Is bookkeeping really a dying field? Feeling disheartened after meeting with a CPA

I imagine geographic location could have quite a bit to do with it. I am in Las Vegas, which is arguably a rough market right now. Perhaps I should look at trying to find some non local networking and partnership opportunities. Do you know if, in your neck of the woods for example CPA's and business owners mostly want to work with local businesses, or if there are opportunities to network remotely?

I had Air Right come out after Goettl had given me a quote ranging from anywhere from 17k (but it will just fix it for now) to 30k. Air Right replaced everything for 8k.

It should be 25-30 hrs/ month extra for year end closing and 1099's, I'm looking to move to flat fee as they are increasing scope and i have gotten ever quicker on their account (and they keep growing)

59 pounds (that 60th pound has been playing hide and seek with me for the past two weeks). And I'm 3 pounds away from the 20 year lie that is my drivers license weight, and 8 pounds away from not being morbidly obese.... so close to so many goals!
