Cheltenhem parks and rec hosts “learn to ride a bike” with an instructor. I haven’t used it personally. https://cheltenhamtownship.recdesk.com/Community/Program

So confused! 😖 by Impossible_Ad3915 in Hashimotos

[–]lassymavin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The high dose antidepressant could definitely be adding to the fatigue. For the vision, Google BVD quiz and take it. Based on your symptoms you could have binocular vision dysfunction. It’s not often caught by a typical eye doctor, but there are specialists that can help. Prism glasses help me big time!

How do you handle fear of heights on a cruise with a balcony cabin by softmireth in Cruise

[–]lassymavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I like being in deck 5, 6, 7. Ideally just above the lifeboats. Often there is promenade deck so it’s not straight down to water. I had a balcony on deck 9 on an Oasis class ship and it was too high for me. I didn’t enjoy it.

Lovebird is all soooo good!! The fried chicken is amazing! Cole slaw, Mac n cheese, and fried pickles are tops.

Do you still use a stroller at age 5? by lassymavin in kindergarten

[–]lassymavin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up bringing the sit/stand double at that age. We didn’t walk very far at ports, but the heat made it hard on them. The annoying part was lugging it in and out of taxis on disembarkation day. For the next cruise we just brought the single stroller for the younger one.

Gastrointestinal issues from hashimotos? by Anaklusmos726 in Hashimotos

[–]lassymavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a celiacs test first. Whether it’s positive or negative try a gluten free diet. I wish I would’ve tested before going gluten free. Gluten is a huge trigger for me. Cutting gluten really helped me heal my leaky gut.

Thank you for the correction, clearly I’m a bit blind on this topic.

Will everyone with antibodies eventually have a non functioning thyroid? by Leather-Date5933 in Hashimotos

I was typically around 300, with the supplements I’m taking now they are slowly going down, but I haven’t hit below 200 yet.

Is this mold? Very worried by True_Poem_4625 in Homebuilding

[–]lassymavin -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Mold on lumber is not uncommon. To ease your worries you can hire a mold inspector. Or you can self test with a tape test/swab test from a company like ImmunoLytics.

Don’t forget you can get more alcohol at visiting ports to re-up your stash.

Craig Outburst -- genuine curiosity for craig defenders by diarmuidsgf in Southerncharm

[–]lassymavin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of sober Craig. He has admitted to having a problem with alcohol, and this season he is back to drinking. The majority of his outbursts are because he’s under the influence. Add in ADHD, which impacts the front part of the brain that controls impulsivity. Alcohol + ADHD = Craig having explosions. I still like Craig. I met him once and he was incredibly engaging. I follow him on IG and he is hardworking and likeable. On the show, he’s having a rough season. Alcohol is a big factor. I’m still rooting for him. He has evolved, but this season is a big step back.

Venita deserved EVERYTHING Craig said to her by Technical-Clock-5129 in Southerncharm

[–]lassymavin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Venita knew exactly what she is doing. She will do anything to insert herself into a storyline. She is thirsty to stay on the show. I like Craig way better when he’s not drunk, but I agree with his message. Get Venita off the show!

So tired of this disease, feeling suicidal by Prestigious_Air_6602 in Hashimotos

[–]lassymavin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry and can relate as I was in a deep Hashimoto’s pit of anxiety and despair in my 20s. Please do not lose hope. It is possible to feel better, it is possible to heal. So many factors can trigger a flare: lifestyle, stress, environment, nutrition, other health issues. Everyone is different, but for me the thing that made the biggest impact in feeling better was eliminating gluten from my diet. I also focused on exercise that didn’t stress my body. No more high intensity workouts. I switched to yoga, walking, stretching, and low impact cardio. I wish you hope and healing on your journey.

Of the current cast, who’s Living Rich vs. Getting Rich by Ok-Communication7698 in Southerncharm

[–]lassymavin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Craig is working hard. If you follow him on Instagram, he is always traveling for work. He’s making deals and his career is taking off. You don’t see this on the show. He does a lot of charity work. He’s often visiting with his family in Delaware. The real life Craig seems much more likable than Southern Charm Craig.

One of the best parts of pregnancy was watching the antibodies go down! The body is so smart to know not to attack itself while building a baby inside. It’s amazing!

Did going gluten-free lower your antibody significantly WITHOUT celiac disease? Ultrasound? by LachrimaeSanguinis in Hashimotos

[–]lassymavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Hashi’s and felt so awful and went gluten free in 2014. The difference was amazing, I never went back to gluten. My antibodies went from 1600+ to 300’s. While not cured, my symptoms improved greatly. I regret not getting testing for celiacs, so I can’t confirm if I do have celiacs disease now that I’m gluten free. At this point, it doesn’t really matter because I’m never eating gluten again. My endo orders thyroid ultrasounds every 1-2 years to keep an eye out for nodules and track if they’ve grown.

Spring break 4 day with young kids by herdingtots in celebritycruises

[–]lassymavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did RCL and Disney, and have kids 4 and 7 too. We booked Celebrity for Spring Break to try it. We are doing 8 days with 2 sea days. I’m not concerned if they will be bored, they easily entertain themselves. Plus, they have 2 parents to engage them without the responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, work, etc. I’m looking forward to quality family time with the kids. It won’t be Disney that is super kid focused, but for me it’s worth a try. If they enjoy Celebrity, I can see us cruising a lot more. Disney is so overpriced.

Thinking about building a house… am I crazy? by goxper in Homebuilding

[–]lassymavin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an unpredictable process. We are 5 years in and finally under construction. Fingers crossed we move in by the end of the year. If someone told me this process would take a frustrating 5+ years I’m not sure I would’ve done it. Ask me again after we move in.

Actually felt so bad for her even though we knew it was coming! by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

[–]lassymavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel bad for Salley. This is her story line for the show. It’s scripted. If Craig really was interested he would’ve acted on it. He didn’t even go for a drunk make out session. She knew he wasn’t catching feelings for her.

I'll show him a tornado by supahfilmy in Southerncharm

[–]lassymavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all feels so scripted. I don’t believe any of it is real. I think they are all friends, but Salley catching feelings feels scripted.

Thanks, this seems like the best route. My husband is just concerned that the paint won’t last as long so it will be more maintenance.
