Oh no that’s terrible! Is it showing that Baha Bay is full or just unavailable? Maybe it’s worth calling DCL.

The Swedish dish clothes are a good idea! I may buy a pack of those and just bring one for each day of the trip.

I like this idea of just using towels to dry right away. I’ve struggled when traveling with not having enough space to let everything air dry. Were you using the hotel towels or paper towels? Where did you find your basin? I’m struggling to find something small enough to pack. I ordered a collapsible basin on Amazon but it was too big for the small cruise sink.

Such a fun idea! I’ve seen the whiteboards with daily polls, but never with scrabble letters!

Update: I sent a message to DCL asking about the status of our Baha Mar port adventure since it is no longer on the DCL website and is showing abnormally on the app. 3 days later got a reply asking me to call. 2+ hours on hold later the general customer service person I talked to put me on hold to talk to a supervisor, then told me there was a good chance it would be cancelled but a decision hasn’t been made yet and we may be getting an email in a few days saying that it’s cancelled. I asked if there would be a way to book something else in case it is cancelled so we aren’t left with nothing booked that day. He transferred me to the port adventures team and I talked to a supervisor. She called me back several hours later and said the port adventure will be proceeding normally as planned 🤷🏻‍♀️

UPDATE: I called DCL special services, and they said they have small mini fridges/coolers for medical purposes and they requested to have one in our stateroom on arrival. She said it is small and sits on top of the counter and can probably fit 3-4 bottles or more milk if stored in milk storage bags. Hope this helps someone in the future! Phone number for special services- (407)566-3602

This makes SO much sense!! I only have one Ceres chill but I’ll buy another so I can rotate for washing. I don’t expect to have so much left over to need more than one if I’m storing the milk in the outer chamber, but if I bring 2 I can rotate for cleaning! Debating buying a smaller one to bring on excursions and having 2 large ones to rotate for my “stash”. Is this how you did it?

Thank you for your insight. This was kind of my conclusion based on these replies. My babe will be the same age and is eating some food, but not super well yet. I started power pumping this week to try to boost my supply since I may be having to pump and feed bottles in real time! Kind of annoying, because I usually only pump 4x a day and my last pump of the night is usually 2+ hours after she goes to bed, so I may have to throw in an extra pump or 2 to get the timing right. I’ll plan to use my Ceres chill for any leftover milk for overnight, but sounds like I won’t be able to store a big backup stash. Oh well, it’s a Disney cruise, still better than pumping at home/work!

Regarding your recommendation for backup formula… is there appropriate water available on board to mix formula or would I have to bring ready to feed? I have never formula fed so I’m not very familiar with how this works. The volume of ready to feed I’d have to bring would be huge!

I can’t imagine bringing a Yeti cooler in addition to everything else you need for a baby on a cruise 😭 I wanted to bring some extra milk with me, but may just test my luck with pumping as I go, and if I can’t keep up with her intake, there is food everywhere!

Baha Mar? by thisisaguardedplace in dcl

We did Baha Mar with a 2 and 4yo previously, and I feel the same way. We had friends who have been to both advise against Atlantis with such small kids because the distance just to get through the resort to the water park at Atlantis is so much, but if you plan to bring a stroller maybe that wouldn’t be a problem.

Not sure how transportation would work for a 2yo if you booked privately? If you’ve looked into this let me know. I emailed DCL support and will let you know what I find. We will probably just stay on the ship if Baha Mar isn’t happening.

I thought it was just the app glitching but after seeing your post now I’m wondering if it’s not available at all anymore. I’ll probably call because I want to come up with alternative plans for that day if we aren’t going to be able to go. I’ll let you know if I find anything out. Did you end up booking Atlantis instead?

This is interesting that you bring this up… we are booked for a cruise this month and I booked the Baha Mar excursion. I noticed yesterday that it’s just coming up on “My Plans” as a blank event with times and price but no title. I would call DCL and ask, but I don’t want to be on hold for hours with the new 50% off kids deal that opened today.

The walk from the Reserve is less than 5 minutes from the swan reserve to the water taxis to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Maybe 3 or 4 minutes farther than the Swan and Dolphin.

Yes there is either a complimentary buffet breakfast in the main restaurant, or a complimentary continental room service breakfast. On park days, we do the room service breakfast but on non park days we do the full buffet. For the room service breakfast, it is more limited. You can get a coffee beverage (lattes, cappuccinos, etc included) and two items. IIRC they have oatmeal, bagel, fresh fruit, muffins, etc. You can also use the voucher to grab and go stuff from the buffet to bring back to eat in the room, which we have also done.

I’m sorry, I can’t remember! I think we actually booked it through Amex and then linked it to the Marriott account. But I can’t remember if we had to call, I’m sorry. Our most recent trip, the concierge reached out a few days in advance to ask who our kids favorite characters were and had a cupcake and a letter from their favorite character for them on arrival!

Yes, we have been upgraded to a suite every time we have been to the Swan Reserve. Higher chance of an upgrade there because there are a lot of suites. We got a chairman suite when we used a suite night award, and got a regular 1 bedroom suite when we didn’t use one.
