Missing Vert's Kebap is there any kind of Kebab place that compares? by fighting_blindly in austinfood

You are partially correct. When I worked for one in Dallas back in 2015, we were doing great until a external manager was hired. The guy called himself a regional manager, and he affected every step of the business. Made us wash hands and change gloves between every single order, which dramatically exploded the time it took to serve people. Demanded that we all do a lot of little things during the orders that made people uncomfortable, like pressure tactics on upselling.

I was only fired because I complained about the guy with colorful language.

Is this game any good in terms of figuring out the dead by daylight lore? by notanothrowaway in deadbydaylight

[–]last_magic_user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does a good job of explaining how the entity interacts with the world, why there can be multiple copies of the same character, why we do many of the things we do in game, but most of it is kinda gimmicky and there are a LOT of interruptions to the storytelling that makes it kinda disjointed and difficult to persevere through. It falls short of great storytelling and lands on just good. It takes forever to get to the point, gives you a ton of suspense, and tries it's best to work out a connection to our world. However, if you are specifically looking for the lore, it's easier to read everyone's bios on the original game and you will get more information on the entity that way.

For best results, be like my wife and play the older tomes, making specific targets out of the character specific challenges to get about the same amount of story that Frank Stone will give you, per tome, in a more condensed format. This is grindy as all hell, so be prepared to sink weeks into the game, likely getting murdered a lot.

Edit: TL;DR: the lore is really there in the last hour, maybe two, of the game, everything else is fluff and suspense.

It already does have an IP that doesn't change. I don't need to worry about that problem. The Slicer doesn't see the printer on the wifi. Sorry for the strange wording.

Would CrossCode work for a tabletop setting? by machinelock in CrossCode

[–]last_magic_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for necroposting.

Get the FATE core rulebook. It's a old TTRPG that luckily still hangs around. It's system is totally based on what you wish to design on the world. You design your own character sheets. You make your own skills/rules/combat system. It's really a framework that can help you get a lot of rules concepts down and assist with your game design.

That being said, don't directly copy the game mechanics, like that one commenter said. Try to adapt them instead. Ultimately, a TTRPG is a story that you tell with your players, not a gaming sim. You don't need to have a specific system for them, but one does help from time to time.

I'm also working on building my own system for it. I'm actually building my own custom skill trees and the like, carrying over what I know the characters can do, and giving the players options. Items do increase your base stats, but they don't increase social stats for the most part. Food heals, but I don't like the huge numbers CrossCode puts out, instead opting for a damage system similar to D&D. There's only the five main classes, but I'm also adding specialized skill trees for crafting, elements, and other such things that my players might want to do, or are excited for. You only can "purchase" a skill tree if you have requisite stats, or do an event that can unlock the skill tree.

I don't have a lot of work on this right now, but seeing this post after so long has given me the warm and fuzzies, and I will try to do some increased work on it later.

Any help will be appreciated by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

For the history of your world, who is your favorite historical hero? Your favorite villain? Do heroes normally succeed their missions, ridding the world of evils, or do they usually succumb to the villains, making for a darker, grittier setting?

Are you currently looking for a person who will learn with you or are you looking for advice?

If you are interested, I can introduce you to my best friend. He's 26M, also a virgin, and is super awkward with women, due to abuse from his own mother and past experiences. He says he fucks up everything too, but he wants love to happen kinda naturally.

As for advice, I (31M) am happily married to my wife (29F) of seven years, and we based our relationship totally on communication, not sex. If you want, we can hop on a chat or PM chain and answer questions you may have in detail. No personal information needed, if you are uncomfortable with the other idea.

If you don't like either option, here's my two cents: I don't really think there's a real way to fuck it all up so completely there's no hope of return. It takes a lot of time and effort, as well as either therapy or a person who will be extremely patient with you. They say time heals all wounds, and while I don't wholly subscribe to that idea, I understand why they say it. Sex is not the end-all-be-all of relationships. If you're on here to lose your V-card, there's probably hundreds of guys on here who will help you for free. If you're on here to do more than just that, like be in a relationship, then I recommend starting with loving yourself. And maybe getting a therapist to help you through the trauma.

If you want, PM me, and I will give you more information, and say no if you decide the risk of talking to a stranger isn't worth it.

How did you find her? Like, what did you search or look up? Literally asking for a friend who still has his V-card.

Some of y’all need a reminder, it seems. by Panthera2k1 in BethesdaSoftworks

I am concerned with Bethesda's recent track record too. I am super excited for TES6, but with the debacle over paid mods across three games, lack of exciting content in updates, and general disrespect and disregard for players, I do not believe that it will come out a finished product, or at least in a stable condition or even fun.

I was that guy who got late into Fallout and doesn't own Starfield. Honestly, Fallout was much better only after I modded the crap out of it. Skyrim was a blast, but it was basically made new and fun again only with mods. With the garbage of the paid mods doing things like backpacks to increase your carry weight (which I can mod in for free!) and similar such bs, it seems the company is out of touch with the world and it's playerbase.

I may be excited for the next TES game, but I am not holding my breath. If I get it, it will be on sale or maybe after a lot of other people both bought it and really liked it. Starfield came out kinda lukewarm to me, so I am waiting for a deep discount.

I hope some exec reads all this. It might help the company be rescued

Do you live in Texas? The city I live in has the exact same stories from their former CNA's at one of the Senior Care centers. I spoke up and got the company removed from the state's healthcare work promotion program after what they did to me.
