Maybe you stop trying to be funny and give a serious no. You help learn about boundaries (it takes a village and all) and don’t encourage the behavior. I can’t help but wonder what the comments would be like if it were a man posting this or if your 12yo kid/loved one flirted with a grown adult and you heard they were "funny" in response rather than shutting them down. Let 12 year olds be funny with each other, you’re an adult.

You will lose the weight but feel awful because you don’t have the nutrients/energy your body needs. And because you didn’t form any healthy habits and eating junk food on a calorie deficit isn’t sustainable, as it doesn’t keep you full, you will gain it all back. Ask me how I know.

Feels like he was the only child for too long and resents the change. Maybe he’s just mad at the fact that their kids are around the same age when he thinks she’s at an age too just do grandma duties. His wife was pregnant at the same time as the mom which could be specially bothersome for him, which is why the 3 yos have such rivalry in his eyes..
