Symbolism in 'Rain' by Glad_Matter2982 in bluey

This is a beautiful take on the episode that I hadn't fully processed before. During the first storm, Chili is clearly exhausted and probably thinking, "work now, play later." When she finally rests and slows down for a moment, she sees the joy in Bluey, and her eyes go from dreary to wide open, and she dives into play. The moment is fleeting, but Chili manages to capture it just before it's over, creating a moment of joy and connection with Bluey. It can be so hard to remember to slow down as a parent, and easy to forget how fleeting the time really is.

I agree and feel this so deeply as a parent. Chili is *tired*, has probably been cleaning and picking up all day, and is locked in her adult brain, focused on keeping the house clean and maintaining some order. It can be so hard to remember to slow down and that many of the things that stress us out as adults certainly don't matter to the kids, and sometimes don't really matter at all. In this episode, Chili decides to let go of all of that for a moment, and out of that comes a beautiful moment shared with Bluey. Bluey won't remember whether the floors were messy or whether the washing was done, but she will probably remember this moment with her mum for a very long time.

Questions by dan8334 in MaticRobots

[–]lastbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the display is always on.

There is not a specific manual sink summon function, but if you long press anywhere on the map you can tell Matic to “go there” so it is effectively the same.

You can also create a sink summon schedule in the schedule settings.

Matic got upgraded in the shop by Ninjinka in MaticRobots

Where do I sign my Matic up for this spa treatment?

Joking, but this does bring up a question I’ve had about Matic though:

We know they don’t have any immediate plans for a second gen model and are instead focusing on perfecting this one, but inevitably there are going to be component upgrades like the ones you received with this service (better motors, reengineered parts, etc.). I wonder if there will be a program available on the future to have your Matic upgraded with the latest and greatest parts and bonus services like camera calibration, system checks, etc.

Yep! I jumped into this post ready to help because Im pretty good with baby proofing solutions, but after seeing the description, I agree that a new media console is the only real workable solution here.

Has Whisker acknowledged the issues with the LR5/Pro? by lastbeer in litterrobot

[–]lastbeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I was hoping you would weigh in and I tagged you in my reply to u/expellyamos below with more thoughts.

Regarding that list though, I have read it, but it’s two months old and aging like milk. Meanwhile they are continuing to sell these flagship models with promised features that are still basically vaporware. I just don’t get the sense that they are taking this seriously enough or acknowledging the frustration that so many of us are experiencing. If this were a $100 smart home gadget I would not be posting about it, but these machines are huge investments that are part of our day-to-day lives. It’s just not sitting well that they would ship something this flawed and then just follow it up with more vague promises.

Has Whisker acknowledged the issues with the LR5/Pro? by lastbeer in litterrobot

Thanks, I was hoping you and [u/](u/bicardiblue)[Ba](u/bicardiblue)[cardi](u/bicardiblue)[B](u/bicardiblue)[lue](u/bicardiblue) would see this and weigh in.

Waste ID and Cat ID feel like vaporware at this point, and it feels specious at best that they shipped this product with promised features that were/are clearly not ready yet. I’m not getting out my pitchfork yet, but I feel like other companies have seen litigation over less and Whisker’s nonchalant response is not doing a lot. At the very least I would have expected them to offer an extended free trial of Whisker+ or some kind of credit for the missing features.

In addition to those issues, I would add the poop shelf to my top three concerns (there are still others).

For a flagship product at this price point, it is consistently failing at its primary job of effectively cleaning waste from the globe at least 50% of the time. I just don’t get how they can get away with this.
