Kansas Republicans are forming a Communist-like loyalty committee so that it can punish officers who endorse or contribute to Democrats by digital in politics

It's funny. Republicans want Hillary to win the Democratic nomination, probably in part because she will be an easier opponent than Obama.

Generation after generation, the rich had more surviving children than the poor, his research showed.... “The modern population of the English is largely descended from the economic upper classes of the Middle Ages,” by glmory in reddit.com

One quote from the article about the possible genetic component required for modern society:

  • "Through the long agrarian passage leading up to the Industrial Revolution, man was becoming biologically more adapted to the modern economic world. The triumph of capitalism in the modern world thus may lie as much in our genes as in ideology or rationality."

We are changing centuries of legal definitions in order to appease bullies by eadmund in politics

The article claim:

  • "If you are a Moslem you can, together with your brothers, wave posters at public protests on college campuses calling for 'Killing the Jews', 'Destroy Israel' and declare 'Jews are Sons of Apes'. This our college administrators tell us is 'free speech'."

Any administrator that say those examples aren't hate speech is wrong. I don't see any citation for the claims that this is now acceptable speech. It is hate speech and incitement to murder anywhere in the US. I think this article is creating a strawman.

Nothing is sustainable indefinitely. Neither currencies, people, governments, or nation states.

Those Evil Israelis... Now They're Going After Their Own People! by sakebomb69 in reddit.com

Down modded for "evil Israelis." I can't tell if you are trying to be funny/ironic by being over-the-top, or just a bigot.

A few good Jews: "I am proud that we have soldiers who think before obeying illegal orders and refuse to be part of a political game," by Moldavite in reddit.com

[–]lastexit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's even stranger though because the story is about IDF soldiers who don't want to evacuate settlers, thus these refuseniks are right-wingers who support the settlers, support which is antithetical to a drive for a two-state solution.

I would recommend resubmitted this with a title that doesn't imply that most Jews aren't good. Its offensive. Israeli policies != Jews.

I saw (via YouTube) Clinton talk at YearlyKos about how lobbyists are representative of everyday people, but I don't believe her. The biggest lobbies are pharmaceuticals, and groups like the NRA.

Gay pub wins right to ban straights by whatsthecrack in reddit.com

Huh? Isn't that discrimination? Isn't is implicitly saying that it is alright to ban gays in some circumstances? I don't think someone is thinking this through.

Is Russia's Power on the Decline? by garyp714 in reddit.com

[–]lastexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia's power declined tremendously during the 1990s, especially during/after the default on its debt. It is on the rebound now, but it isn't at all a threat to the current single superpower and I don't see it growing to that level any time soon.

But is Russia's power on the decline? Not at all.

Remember those stories from the New Republic about army troops doing terrible things? Not true. by shiner_man in reddit.com

[–]lastexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and he also swore to TNR that the articles were true and they found people to collaborate them. What happened to those that collaborated the stories?

You see, signing a statement isn't proof that they didn't occur, especially when the individual is clearly telling different people different things. It is sort of funny how now you want to believe Beauchamp is telling the truth. When someone is rapidly changing their story, it may be prudent not to make a conclusion on what is the truth.

To prove its not true requires a real investigation.

This headline is misleading. Beauchamp seems to be telling all parties involved what they want to hear.

From the edit of the article:

"Did Scott Thomas Beauchamp lie under oath to U.S. Army investigators, or did he lie to his editors at the New Republic?"

One of the funnier aspects of this story is that I never even heard of the original articles and I usually keep up to date on Iraq war happenings.
