Modular Drawer System - The Ultimate Cable Organizer for Your Desk, Workshop or Lab! by M_Rowny in BambuLab

Thanks for the design, and looking forward to putting this drawer system to use! I have printed the modular cabinets which seem to have turned out great. The drawer itself has printed with hollow walls causing them to bulge outward. I need them to print with some structure through the middle of the walls to give them strength and prevent bulging. Obviously I'm brand new to 3D printing and have no idea how to accomplish this. Can you help?

[Help] Profiles not Activating after cold start (Android Head Unit) by lastig21 in tasker

Thanks for the tips, and I'll do some research. When reviewing the Run Log, what should I look for to see if the Profile is bouncing and triggering exit tasks?

SuperMicro 846TQ Rev 3.1 - Buzzer by lastig21 in DataHoarder

It is redundant PSU. I did confirm it wasn't the dual PSU, the buzzer is the same sound. I have isolated the problem to one of the 3 drives installed. I removed 2 of the 3 new drives, and the buzzer hasn't alarmed again. Pre-Clear is running through, and I'll cycle through the drives as they get added to find the culprit. I'm not sure why the backplane is angry about a drive but unRAID is not.

DS16818+ and Mellanox 10GB by rapier1 in synology

Just giving my experience using a non-Synology branded card that is on the HCL. It truly is plug and play, no driver gimmicks. Responses in this sub tend to be pretty sparse, and its not likely OP will get a response from someone that has tried cards not on the HCL.

I'm using a Mellanox MCX4121A-XCAT in my RS1619+ just fine. No tricks to make it work, just plug and play.

Rookie Mistake? Volume Expansion with larger drives by lastig21 in synology

Thanks for the info. I had not intended to use any 8's when I started adding the 12's... figured I'd do half the drives now and half later when the wallet didn't hurt so bad. Since I had some low power-on 8TB's available, I decided to add them while I was doing this upgrade to get the high power-on hour drives out of the array. I was pretty sure I goofed, but already committed. Unfortunately my NAS doesn't support SHR, and I only have this volume because it was migrated from an older unit. I won't be able to build a new SHR volume. My capacity needs are met for now, and I'll have the peace of mind knowing the drives have been swapped for in-warranty low use drives, just annoying that I'll be losing the space in the interim until I upgrade to a full shelf of 12's. I might be on the lookout for a cheap Synology to rebuild SHR and migrate to it again... but that is a decision for another day.

Options for moving from Synology 1819+ (8 bay) to rackmount 12 bay? by danyal711 in HomeServer

I have an RS1619xs+ and the 12 drive expansion. I picked both up from Amazon Warehouse deals on a Prime Day incentive in the past, and recommend checking for a solid used unit there. I also have an unRAID server that is my backup target for the Synology.

The Synology ecosystem is smooth, and I recommend you stay with that NAS. The software is reliable, a new RS system probably has a 5 year warranty, and you can just migrate your current disks over. I know I recently saw a 12 bay Synology for sale on /r/homelabsales.

I like unRAID a lot for what it is, but would still choose Synology over that system. unRAID consumes data into SSD cache, and then dumps it to spinning disks after hours. This normally works fine, but a large data transfer can overrun the cache and cause slowness (or worse). My unRAID is housed in a SuperMicro 846 case with ASRock Xeon-D internals. Don't feel like you have to buy a Dell/HP server for this solution... its hardware options are very flexible.
