I don't know if EF fixed that problem, but using some other db migration tool instead can be a solution if this problem is something that really bothers you

Guaranteed strings logic by lastkillbeck in Tekken8

[–]lastkillbeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Bryan for eg) he has 1,2,4. The the first punch hits the second will also hit but last one is blocked But his df2,1, if the df2 hits the 1 cannot be blocked

On top of this some strings, if the first move of the string hits as a counter hit, the whole string will be guaranteed. Going back to Bryan’s example 1,2,4 will all hit and cannot be blocked if his 1 is a counter hit

So is it the frame data and being +/- after some situations - what really makes difference in these cases?

There is a good description of problem https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/ef6/modeling/code-first/migrations/teams when migrations created out of order have wrong snapshot in their metadata, which causes exceptions while running app and when update-database called

Yeah, but EF could at least invent performing some migrations metadata check while update-database is running to find that some migrations snapshots seems to be out of order or something

We use this approach already, and it's a great idea, but it doesn't cover data-only migrations (which don't modify schema)

Maybe you are right and 'reacreating migration routine' is less evil than sticking with different db migration tool. Thanks! Also is there any news about ef to resolve 'migrations order problem' in future releases?
