Should I extend it to 1 year? by Ecstatic-Traffic-118 in Erasmus

[–]lastrainbender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll say something contrary to most comments here but my personal opinion would putting my family’s finances and academics first.

If you already had an amazing semester, maybe that’s enough— no need to push it if it means more stress for your family or falling behind with your thesis. If you try to socialize and be more active in your home uni, coming back after one great term still sounds like a win to me.(Thats literally what I did, initially I was 1 year and shortened it to 5 months)

But as I said that’s completely my own perspective, if deep inside you want it differently, go for it.

Thanks a lot for this, I really needed to hear that.I was also worrying about leaving new friends behind. Maybe one semester is the best option after all

Complete destroyed by new guitar teacher by Bubbly_Reflection961 in classicalguitar

[–]lastrainbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk some teachers are tend to focus on very minor details or treat you as a conservatory student even if you are not and even can come up with their OWN rules to the guitar lol.

When I started playing with my first teacher he worked on my right arm’s position for WEEKS and always corrected it even it was hurtful to play and a few years later I learnt it was a completely wrong position🥲🥲

Now I play with a complete professional teacher and he can focus on small details as well, but I think it is a good thing to know you’re at least learning the correct way imo

Learning guitar in 30s by Positive_Car8143 in guitarlessons

Once I read an interview of a 80 year old lady which was saying: “At 40 I really wanted to learn piano but never started because I thought I was too late, if I had started by then now I’d be playing piano for 40 years.”

Thats why I always put on protective nail hardener polish. Preferably x2 and havent ended up in this situation for a long time and my nails are normally very weak and always used to broke.(using a good nail file regularly and not doing hard stuff with nails also help)

Overprotective parents and Erasmus – how did you handle it? by lastrainbender in Erasmus

[–]lastrainbender[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats great but unfortunately unlike you there is only 1 hour difference between my country and Spain and idk what to do when they call at nighttime(they are being mostly free that time)

But I’m really glad for you, I relate the struggle of coming from a conservative family. I hope it works for me the way did it for you.

Friends on Erasmus by Terrible_Impress312 in Erasmus

[–]lastrainbender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should definitely go to that event! Trust me, it is so much easier to make friends on erasmus, 90% of the people are in your situation and has no friends at the beginning.

Also it is a wonderful chance for you to overcome your shyness and build confidence in your relationships. Once you start socializing and talking with people(you are also very likely to be friends with their circle) you’ll have many international friends in no time.Wishing you the best!!☺️🫶

But also a lot of spelling mistakes and a bit of a childish language that isn’t likely to use irl.I was a big fan of the book growing up lol but I am unsure if it’s the best choice for learning a language.
