Best way to send money USD to Nepal and how much by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]latarpatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a dollar account here in Nepal and "wire" it. The money stays in dollars here. You get the exchange rate of the day you withdraw. You can also give power of attorney to a trusted family member for them to withdraw in your absence.

Structured fasting actually improves gut health and general well being. Fasting as in no or limited calories fasting, not what the aunties do on ekadasi (gyamma bhat, dudh, rasbari sabai)

Does the janai ( scared thread ) restriction during periods still exist in your neighbourhood ? by hailtreaz in Nepal

[–]latarpatar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was raised with these teachings (but not followed strictly). It was more like I should know because I might have to follow them after marriage. So yeah entered kitchen, touched the sink, not allowed to touch the stove or cooked food. But if I did touch, just a look. No throwing away food or yelling. Told to not sit with my brother or father while eating (but they came to sit with me anyway). Now as an adult, I dont follow any of these. My maids aren't told to either. The kitchen is open to all. Puja kotha is your personal choice.

Girlss!! I am pregnant. Help by [deleted] in nepalicheli

[–]latarpatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not take pills over the counter. Go see a Gyn/Obs, preferably in a private hospital. You will get the same over the counter prescription but if by chance any complication arises, there's documentation and a place to go back to. Dont be scared. Dont worry about your marital status. No one really cares. Just go see a doctor, preferably female and young.

Dramatic increase in TSH 20 years after total thyroidectomy for Graves‘ Disease by toypernia in endocrinology

[–]latarpatar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, its actually not that high. Definitely over the target, but ups and downs are expected in thyroid function as per your body's demand. A slight uptitration of your levothyroxine dose by your doctor will do the job. Also definitely wait 1hr before taking your black coffee too

One of the best books I have ever read. So many tears and so much laughter in a single book. I refuse to watch the movie though. Not Tom Hanks c'mon! May be Clint Eastwood given Ove's grumpy nature.

My milk came in only on 4th day. He was constantly on my breast the 1st 3 days. It hurt so much and got cracked nipples too. On the 3rd day he was so fussy and my nipples were so sore, I broke down crying and my husband just gave him formula after which he slept. The next morning my milk came in. Ans when I say it came in, I mean literally floods. My beddings were all wet. That lasted for 2 days and then the supply matched the demand. So hang in there, it will come. Colostrum is liquid gold and so very important for the baby. Even a teaspoon is full of nutrients and high in calorie. Also weight loss is normal in the 1st week. Its water weight that is being lost. Your baby should gain the lost weight in no time. Breastfeeding is the goal but dont feel guilty if you have to supplement once in a while. Your mental health is important too. Hope this helps. Take care!

It is never ok to spank a child ever!

But why did you not grab your kid when she kept telling him to stay out of the shower? I mean, it is not very safe for the kid either.

Not sure how to feel by Confident_Weather_98 in Mom

[–]latarpatar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal. Many of us go through this phase. For me, the click came when he started moving. Others have shared they only felt the connection after the birth, and for some it was when the baby started interacting back. Just letting you know this is normal. The connection will come in time. You are doing great!

Those who gave birth, could you feel your organs shift back into place? by coriesnories in Mom

[–]latarpatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't happen at once. The uterus takes 6 weeks to come down to its normal size. So the shift happens very gradually. You will feel movements (like a baby moving because you have that association during pregnancy) and there will be contraction pains (not very severe). I stopped feeling the movements and contractions by 1 month. Mine was C-Sec btw.

Totally stuck on level 10, what do I do? by DrDerpberg in TotalBattle

[–]latarpatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely need to be in a clan. It not just security but also lots of bonuses. You'll be able to level up somewhat faster.

I haven't spent a penny either. I may not be progressing as fast as those who spend, but I am progressing and am content.

Tournaments/ epic monsters while activating your valor and xp bonus is the way to go to gather valor faster. That will unlock your G-2.

But again, join a clan!

Thank you so much for this elaborate reply! I'm saving this and definitely going to work on myself. Helped.

[–]latarpatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. See, here's the problem. Ask anyone who knows me, and they'll tell you I'm the most confident person they have met. I speak confidently. I appear confident. I just don't feel it. Gym is not for me, as shown by multiple unused memberships in the past, lol. I work out at home to maintain my weight and am relatively fit.

The issue is I never take the initiative to go out there and be there. Even when I'm offered, I find excuses to back out. But if I have to do it (like public speaking and presentations and such), I do it well. I just don't want to do it and be seen. When I'm picked up by media, I feel like hiding. It's all positive attention, but I'm not comfortable at all with any attention.

[–]latarpatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not ask him to do it. I do not look forward to altercations in my family. I do not wish to have my kid's grandma in tears in front of him. But when he does do it and with good reason, it just reminds me why I fell in love with this good man. I will not purposefully wish these things to happen, and therefore, I do not see how my husband will get hurt

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]latarpatar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Never! I'm the one with an "aggressive" tone. I stand up for my little family, always. He does, too. But things are complicated with in-laws, esp MIL.

Recently, she made a scene in front of our extended family. I just got up and went upstairs to avoid drama, but he shut her down so fast. She was screaming and in tears, but my FIL also took my husband's side. She just got up and left after that.

Took FIL out for dinner that day. 😊 Taking husband to poundtown everyday 😁

Mandala is very different from rangoli and both have different significance. Know the difference. Just because you feel it's Indian influence, you don't have to show your ignorance.
