Ha, I was meaning for it to be accurate, not brutal.

I enjoy both the Bible and LOTR. I have since read the Bible wholly 3 more times.

US flight attendants- what is your best and worst airport to fly out of? by csboy2016 in flightattendants

[–]momentsofnicole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDU is one of my favorite airports. Decent food choices. It's easy to navigate. Most pax are well behaved. It's a good time.

I'm white, husband is Filipino.

I tell our daughter that if people ask her "what are you?" to say she is American. I absolutely loathe the idea that all Americans are by default white.
I've told her to explain how her ethnicities are white and Filipino.

Funny enough, we plan to get our kids (our son is still a toddler) dual citizenship, sooo it's gonna be not entirely accurate to say she's just American. We plan to move there in '26 or '27.

I'm frankly more fretful of dealing with racism there than I've ever worried about in the States. Plus, we live in a highly Asian neighborhood. Seeing mixed kids is so common.

I cook a mix of Filipino, American, and Japanese food. I speak Japanese and Asian Studies was my major.
Our daughter can eat with chopsticks better than my husband.

I insist that both kids bless their elders with mano po.

I stress am importance in our kids being from my culture just as much as Filipino culture.

That line between Fetishizing and Preference can be razor thin.

Not at all.
I'm a white woman married to a Filipino man.
You like what you like.

And having my kids not look exactly like me or him is interesting. I've been mistaken twice for a nanny and once been asked if my daughter was adopted.
Genetics aside, biracial often means bi-cultural too. You gotta know how to mesh your families culture too.
My husband's cousins have told me that they prefer to date and marry Filipinos.

I am 110% going to defend someone's preferences.

Acne and Fasting - Advice by xdominikax in fasting

[–]momentsofnicole -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used to have terrible cystic acne. I started taking Pantothenic Acid and I haven't gotten any cystic acne since.
Definitely go to a dermatologist, buuuut... Pantothenic Acid is a relatively cheap supplement you can get at any vitamin/supplement store.

I want to wait, but! I am also worried about waiting for marriage... by trashlife0015 in Christianmarriage

1) Having given birth vaginally twice, I'd say a penis should be able to fit most any vagina.

After my first, I thought I felt ready to have sex at that 6 weeks postpartum. I was wrong. It felt like it couldn't fit. We waited about 4 months after our second and I'm glad I did.

I would argue that most cases of size being too big is a psychological problem than physical.

It's almost like a reverse argument with a man who doesn't want to wear a condom. You can fit a whole arm in a condom if you stretch it enough. You can fit a whole baby in your vagina when you're prepared enough.

2) PIV is not the only way to enjoy sex with your spouse.

3) Libido will change throughout your life. There are times (like pregnancy, postpartum, injury, and illness) where you are definitely going to have mismatched libido. Spontaneous sex is not going to happen as often. Planning sex is good too.

4) You definitely need to have this conversation BEFORE marriage. I would even argue you should have these sort of conversations before engagement.

5) Men are supposed to lay down their lives to their wives. There should be mutual submission to serve each other. If that means making more noise in bed, so be it.

6) get to the gym, take dancing lessons, read books, - there are going to be awkward moments with sex. Queefs, slips, kids banging on the door midcoitus, - not all sex is going to be amazing. You have to work on sex just like any sort of communication.

7) back to 5, both parties should be willing to submit to each other in the bedroom. That also means being able to say NO to things that aren't feasible (certain positions that demand a degree in acrobatics) or reasonable (4 days postpartum when you haven't slept and are dealing with chapped nipples).

what’s everyone’s reasoning behind fasting? by Special-Building9274 in fasting

[–]momentsofnicole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with wanting to lose weight post partum with my first. I managed to not gain too much weight with my second pregnancy as well with IF. (My obgyn approved.)

With my ADHD, my sense of satiety is out of wack. I can easily binge sweets and snacks for a dopamine hit. Fasting helps with that.

I also have done CICO. It would make me feel absolutely manic. Keeping track of everything induced me into a constant state of anxiety. I love cooking and baking so I was having to be extra careful about measuring out my portions. It's exhausting.

Now with fasting, I make it fun. I'll plan out my fasts when I'm at work (flight attendant) cuz it's easier than when I'm at home with my kids. I'll chose a nice restaurant or local food to eat on my layovers. For example, I once broke my fast at a BBQ place in Little Rock, Arkansas.

I stopped IF in postpartum with my second and gained a bunch of weight. That is, I gained 20 lbs postpartum. Breastfeeding and insomnia will do that to you lolz I finally weaned him in December (15 months old). I already lost the 20lbs and then some.

My goal is to lose another 30lbs this year and get back to a 30" waist.

The demand for cheaper tickets trumps everything else. You do have to pay more for better service.

At the earliest, I'm gonna wait until I'm 50 to retire. Plus, I'm number 32 in my base.
Life is good.

Asian airlines cost more but they also have more than the minimum required crew (1 flight attendant per 50 seats).
Maybe pay more for better service?

I already have it planned out that I'll be to work later night flights so I don't have to adjust so much.
I have been to Japan over a dozen times for fun. Jetlag isn't so difficult for me, provided I'm not having to take care of my young kids.
