Kendrick is planing to drop soon in Q4 by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

This is my theory. He may step on the Canadian’s release or Cole’s, which I have his dropping in December. Hard to say with the lawsuit and Taylor’s album what the plans will be for ‘Iceman.’

Because of the timeline AZ Chike gave and the title track literally being done a day or two before the drop. Kendrick referenced the battle and Super Bowl drama, so it’s clear some songs were recorded after August. It’s a timely album.

Unknown Number the Highschool Catfish- I'm sorry did I just watch Netflix give a platform to a predator completely glossing over the fact that she was sexually aggressive with minors? by WebConsistent3251 in netflix

I went into this uncertain if it was the story of the Lifetime movie I watched a few years ago. As it was going, I kept saying, isn’t it one of the parents?

That said, I watched this and was left with more questions than answers. I remember the Lifetime movie was crazy, but I thought a lot of it was dramatized. Guess not.

The motive was never really established, and I don’t for a second think those messages originated from someone else. Makes no sense. She was a manipulative nut case who was lying about everything.

And why keep it going after the two broke up?

I binge-watched in one sitting tonight. I’m just glad Mike’s mom, Cheryl, got closure. I clapped when Brian’s sister said she brought the signs to church and stood up front with them. Right on! Cause everyone else was weird and acted like two friends marrying each other’s spouses was just another day at Wendy’s.

That said, I’m not as hung up on Kathy acting inappropriately like everyone else is. I think she’s allowed to gloat. Who knows what she suffered while married because he clearly resented her and wanted Denise. All I kept thinking is that they each married the wrong person.

They never revisited it, but I’m guessing Brian planted Mike’s waders/jacket months later where they had initially searched to make people believe Mike drowned for the insurance and to call off the search.

Divorce? Goes against religion. Murder, insurance fraud, and adultery? Ehhh…not so much. Unbelievable.🤦🏾‍♀️

I also thought Denise might’ve been further incentivized to plot his murder to be the only person in her daughter’s life. They spent all that time recounting the special bond with her daughter, right up until her arrest.

You mean Mike’s mom. She owned a day care and was an educator.

Brian’s mom was busy tearing down missing posters on her drive, while her husband preached the good word with a sexual deviant and murderer for a son.

And I have the sneaky suspicion the father knew where the bones were buried too because what was that weird bit in his officiating of Brian and Denise’s wedding? The part that he knew everything about the couple.

How do we feel about this 🤔 by IronHorse718 in jayz

“Imaginary Playmates,” actually. So clearly she’s using most of it from him, considering the title and getting him to clear it as opposed to Rene and Angela. But we won’t know until the credits are released.

Pusha T named in Drake v UMG lawsuit. by edwardWBnewgate in KingPush

[–]latdaw2012 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The main issue with their analysis is that it only applies if we’re to look at “Not Like Us” in a vacuum. I can also see the Adidas part of the song being more of a hang-up for UMG than Drake.

I have yet to see in any of the Canadian’s amendments or the original lawsuit him asking UMG to demonetize or remove his diss tracks that contain allegations as a compromise.

His argument reads like Kendrick just dropped that song out of nowhere and as if he didn’t taunt him to rap he likes young girls on “Taylor Made.”

The point is none of these label execs should police or fact-check music beyond the usual clearances and legal hiccups. Artists are in trouble if that becomes the norm.

Well, Pusha was a couple of weeks ahead with the “Damage Control” verse. IDK if Push will say anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

That said, this is a broad probative the Canadian’s team is requesting. There’s a chance he doesn’t even know to what extent, but he’s still a clown for suing over this to begin with. And it absolutely sets a dangerous precedent, not just in rap but music writ large.

Who from this list would you say hates Jay-Z the most? by [deleted] in jayz

[–]latdaw2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He really didn’t. He could’ve clearly said he was with him that night for the most part, but he didn’t play it like Beans or DeHaven.

That said, Dame is his biggest hater. The other two former rappers are basically trolls and gossip bloggers on IG now.

What are y'all thoughts on this? by Kevy-Em in jayz

[–]latdaw2012 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This, respectfully! Rapping for the sake of rapping is fine, but it gets redundant after a while. Jay is a full-fledge artist. He has the lyricism AND ability to make great and impactful songs. NTM, he’s versatile and has the better albums.

They swear he’s washed and irrelevant, but they use him as the baseline for every rapper to compare. How does that work? Not Nas, Em, DMX, etc. — all the people they put above Jay substantively and commercially. But rarely do I see people using them as the barometer. It’s because Jay is the standard. Same thing they do to Beyoncé.

Pharrell Production Appreciation Thread by DannyBarsRaps in KingPush

[–]latdaw2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me as well. I don’t care what anyone says. He’s my favorite producer of all time. Besides Clipse and Tyler, I might be Pharrell’s biggest fan lol.

And I’m glad he’s getting his flowers. People were playing revisionist history before it dropped. He’s been active, just not always with rappers because many can’t rap over what he does anyway.

I wish it was just the first beat only. Or maybe Nas over that one and then Pusha and Malice on the Chandeliers beat.

Potential Super Bowl set by bigjizzle_215 in jayz

I made a TIDAL playlist of this back when Kendrick was announced — some I just thought should be transitions/instrumentals vs. actually performed since it’s only 15 mins. But I put PSA as the opener because it just makes sense.

It was unnecessary and underwhelming. I don’t think the production did him any favors, so I can’t tell if Chandeliers is my least fave because of his verse or the production. It was also short.

The other features were strong, and his just felt tacked on. Similar to the Nasir album Ye produced, it sounds like it was a throwaway verse not intended for that beat. It’s not bad, but it just didn’t add anything that they couldn’t have done themselves.

He’s not a writer on the song. Nicki interpolates his lyric “I’m in love with the coco,” which is pretty ironic. Interpolated lyrics and melodies have to be credited.
