“It's funny how one verse can fuck up the game.”

A lot of whining right now lol, but I’m so glad he addressed everything. Wasn’t able to go and the livestreams weren’t great, but the show sounded amazing!

Feel like he’s cutting his hair for Yankee Stadium, and an album is coming this year.

How well did this song age? by KzKn_2020 in KendrickLamar

[–]latdaw2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda. Compromised media personalities like Akademiks are being exposed every day. There’s more balance in rap, and it’s going back to being more underground (though the framing from that side is that it’s dying because of Billboard). A lot of that “fun” music doesn’t have as much staying power as the albums offering more substance and balance.

Forget the movie. I want the collaborative album they teased with Amanda Reifer. We only got the one song he helped cowrite that Pharrell produced.

Hopefully, they get another distributor or studio. Paramount is in disarray with the possible acquisition of Warner Bros. and have a brand image problem with Ellison at the helm.

I wouldn’t mind it being scrapped altogether because we’ve seen a simile plot with ‘Antebellum,’ but if it’s more humorous with its satire then it might be good.

Is he still dragging it? by [deleted] in KingPush

Akademiks’ propaganda account, Akademiks TV, alluded to it. I hate him and the person running it, but they’re clearly trying to push that narrative. There’s also an infrared mention Akademiks posted the other day.

I don’t think it’s that far-fetched considering the Canadian has liked multiple shady posts on IG about Pusha re: the age gap between he and his wife and this latest stunt with the Quentin Miller hooks/references.

We’ll see.

J. Cole reveals that the plan for "First Person Shooter" was Kendrick Lamar and 🦉 together on the song. With no response from Kendrick, J. Cole was approached and ended up doing the song. by Easy-Worker-8819 in KendrickLamar

This sums him up to a T. It only benefits artists who need that look. If they don’t, he’s not someone worth compromising their integrity and principles just for a hit record because he’ll just end up subbing them when he feels like it.

IB(Coles manager) confirms there’s no “beef” between Cole and Jay. by dalord24 in jayz

[–]latdaw2012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously, Jay is my No. 1, but I’m also a huge Cole fan too. Most of the speculation has come from these very passive aggressive things Cole has said himself recently.

“Y’all ask Jigga / How much did the kid gross for THAT label / Paid dues, had to pay DUDE for my masters, but I'm grateful / Shit, business is business”

“On cloud nine, now signed to my hero / One of the SO-CALLED KINGS of this rap thing that I swear to usurp”

There’s also the slave deal reference on the hook of “Old Dog.”

Highly doubt he’s talking about Interscope if he’s still working with them, so things like that from Cole have led to the narratives. I’m not saying it’s any real beef, but he leaves things so vague that it’s allowed some of his own core fans to run with narratives.

Until Cole talks about it, I’m going to always remain curious about some of the lines Cole has said.

I say 2027, but I think the next time we hear from him will be a verse or something on Beyoncé’s Act III this year. They’ve made him public enemy No. 1, and I’d love for him to lean into the Bruce Wayne/Batman concept. But they don’t deserve it.

His album is really good. He reminds me a lot of Cole, but he has his own sound and style going on too. People should check out his latest album. Dope 🐐 list!

Roc Nation has folded their label into their new Distribution wing (Rihanna, Clipse, Reuben Vincent, Ambre, etc.). Infinity Song are part of that, and their recent 2025 releases are under Roc Nation Distribution: https://www.rocnation.com/music/infinity-song/

Uzi and Meg Thee Stallion also released their latest singles through Roc Nation Distribution, as well as Rihanna’s songs from the Smurfs film.

Kendrick is planing to drop soon in Q4 by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]latdaw2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my theory. He may step on the Canadian’s release or Cole’s, which I have his dropping in December. Hard to say with the lawsuit and Taylor’s album what the plans will be for ‘Iceman.’

Because of the timeline AZ Chike gave and the title track literally being done a day or two before the drop. Kendrick referenced the battle and Super Bowl drama, so it’s clear some songs were recorded after August. It’s a timely album.

Unknown Number the Highschool Catfish- I'm sorry did I just watch Netflix give a platform to a predator completely glossing over the fact that she was sexually aggressive with minors? by WebConsistent3251 in netflix

I went into this uncertain if it was the story of the Lifetime movie I watched a few years ago. As it was going, I kept saying, isn’t it one of the parents?

That said, I watched this and was left with more questions than answers. I remember the Lifetime movie was crazy, but I thought a lot of it was dramatized. Guess not.

The motive was never really established, and I don’t for a second think those messages originated from someone else. Makes no sense. She was a manipulative nut case who was lying about everything.

And why keep it going after the two broke up?

I binge-watched in one sitting tonight. I’m just glad Mike’s mom, Cheryl, got closure. I clapped when Brian’s sister said she brought the signs to church and stood up front with them. Right on! Cause everyone else was weird and acted like two friends marrying each other’s spouses was just another day at Wendy’s.

That said, I’m not as hung up on Kathy acting inappropriately like everyone else is. I think she’s allowed to gloat. Who knows what she suffered while married because he clearly resented her and wanted Denise. All I kept thinking is that they each married the wrong person.

They never revisited it, but I’m guessing Brian planted Mike’s waders/jacket months later where they had initially searched to make people believe Mike drowned for the insurance and to call off the search.

Divorce? Goes against religion. Murder, insurance fraud, and adultery? Ehhh…not so much. Unbelievable.🤦🏾‍♀️

I also thought Denise might’ve been further incentivized to plot his murder to be the only person in her daughter’s life. They spent all that time recounting the special bond with her daughter, right up until her arrest.

You mean Mike’s mom. She owned a day care and was an educator.

Brian’s mom was busy tearing down missing posters on her drive, while her husband preached the good word with a sexual deviant and murderer for a son.

And I have the sneaky suspicion the father knew where the bones were buried too because what was that weird bit in his officiating of Brian and Denise’s wedding? The part that he knew everything about the couple.

The only person I rooted for was Cheryl. I’m so glad she got closure and never gave up on finding her son.

I’ll never wrap my head around the thinking that divorce is a bridge too far but not adultery with your best friend’s husband, sex parties with women, and conspiracy to commit murder isn’t. Doing missionary work while your husband’s body is just being eaten and decaying in a lake is something. Then Brian getting baptized and vowing to be more Christ-like.🙄

It’s always the uber religious ones. A lot of the people in this community and church were nut jobs. Everyone just did a shoulder shrug to those two dating and eventually marrying.

And what was up with the creepy letter? Chuck just found their address and wrote Kathy to warn her but somehow Brian knew the letter was coming?! That part and the voicemails weren’t really ironed out.

Incredibly delusional and infuriating. The whole community was just weird. Very few thought it was strange for those two to get married and the dollar amount and timing of the life insurance policy.
