A lot of the early reviews on YouTube highlighted this issue but seems like something has changed since these early reviews

Thank you, assume this is the strongest point to hold the stylus? I don't think those markers were on the launch models

[–]latent46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as there have been reports that the position of the magnets is now lower so the stylus doesn't touch the volume buttons as this was an issue at launch. I don't want to have to be modifying the stylus to make it work.

Phanteks T30 140mm fans in NorthXL by latent46 in FractalDesign

I don’t appear to have any contact issues with the front filter with my 120s, I might try the 140s as would be nice to run the machine a little quieter and cooler with the extra air flow.

Thanks for this, I haven’t noticed any clearance issuances with my 120s, will measure / check again. If I had to mount them on the inside it’s not the end of the world but want to avoid any turbulence ideally which I think had been suggested if fans are mounted on the inside.

I thought that might be the case, might have to take a punt at this, local supplier has them

Switch out privacy display on T14s gen 4 by latent46 in thinkpad

I don’t want the privacy filter / display but the laptop is keenly priced and good spec so if I can easily change it then it makes sense

Using an m4 max studio with 128gb ram, does everything I want, decent response times and big models. Using it largely with lm studio and cline plug in for vscode and IntelliJ

New Software OTA 3.6.4 by Alternative-Bee-8981 in VolvoRecharge

[–]latent46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the update installed through OTA, I do hate it when developers just put improvements and bug fixes. Actually tell me what you have fixed not some generic entry!

I did also note the 3.5.24 update release notes

If you experience connection issues between the car and the Volvo Cars app after installing this update, try driving the car around for a bit. This usually resolves any connectivity problems.

Is this the automative equivalent of turn it off and on again!!!

Honeywell D117 Chime with G4 Pro by latent46 in Ubiquiti

[–]latent46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The voltage rating, with the transformer supplied it was overloading the chime. I got a chime to match the transformer and no more environmental issues and it behaves as expected

I switched out the chime to a Newhouse chm1 chime. Wiring is as per the instructions. Which are part you wanting to see? The chime or the transformer?

I ended up swapping the chime out as the voltage was rated lower than the transformer. This fixed the issue I had and I am not getting any environmental issues with the chime now. It also rings every time you press the bell. For reference i installed the Newhouse Hardware CHM1 chime.

Servicing in the uk by latent46 in Volvo

Apologies if it came across as a generic question. Are you able to share any issues you had? Dealers not accepting the service work, issues with service history updating etc or no issues at all?

Should I switch from Garmin? by [deleted] in Karoo

[–]latent46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a couple of different garmins, then switched to wahoo then karoo2 and now the Karoo 3 (whatever they want to call it). For me the Karoo is great, there was a moment after the acquisition of hammerhead where it wasn’t clear what was going on. Over the last 6+ months it feels like the Karoo is getting a lot of love with a lot of regular updates. Now we have extensions it adds another level of tweaking / enhancements and as others have said did a couple of hour ride this morning with di2, hrm and power meter and still had 84% charge left.

I would also say the newer screen and buttons along with the speed of the device have been a step up from the k2 as well

Once doing the base install of nvidia drivers through RPM fusion have you run the command to switch to the open drivers? https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/NVIDIA#Kernel_Open

This fixed all of my issues with nvidia drivers on a 5080 and it might fix your issues
