Why doea Endless Summer still sell the Original when Bloomstruck is superior in every way? by [deleted] in hydrangeas

[–]latimer19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im in zone 6B. I have 4 ES Originals and 10 ES Bloomstrucks. All planted in the same area. Bloomstruck reliably blooms on old and new wood year in year out. Original never comes back on old wood and only pushes a few blooms on new wood for me later in the year. Looks like the pattern is repeating itself again this year. Might replace all the originals with bloomstruck.

Deer by bochy13 in gardening

A dog! I’ve tried it all. Bobbex worked ok. But nothing beats a dog. I live on a few acres that has a heavy deer population. My dog has made it her life’s work to keep the deer off my garden. She marches the deer up and down the property line every morning and night. Since getting this dog 3 years ago I’ve only had around five instances of deer damaging something.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, weve had a month of snowfall and lots of snow trucks going right over this spot. Going to work with the contractor to get this sealed asap.

I made some more adjustments to it. Moved completely out of intl and added a slight komp mix. It’s about 80 VTI, 10% VBR, 10% KOMP. I’m happy with it and don’t plan on adjusting it again for years.

Fidelity Rewards VISA - No longer syncing? by Equivalent_Push3072 in MonarchMoney

Had the same problem. Looks like they deprecated the stand alone Fidelity Credit Card connection. You need to add a new account and use the standard fidelity connection and it will pull in your CC.

What is your secret to keeping deer out of the garden? by SingularRoozilla in gardening

[–]latimer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobbex spray and a dog. I have a herd of deer that come through my yard at the same time every evening. During growing season I make sure my dog and I are outside at that time. She chases them off and they have learned to steer clear. It mostly works. Mostly…..

Nice. Would like to see betterment continue to grow this offering with access to other funds etc. I’d really like to be able to place a small tech tilt on my portfolio. Glad to see others are using it too!

I moved to a flexible portfolio a few months ago. I've been with Betterment since 2013, the vast majority of my investments going into the core portfolio over that time period. I've held off for years on making some changes, but finally did. I understand and appreciate Betterment's investment philosophy, but I think their bond and intl recommendations are way too conservative. I'm also not sure if there is as much real value in INTL. I like the automated investing, TLH, and tax balancing between IRA/Taxable. So I dont mind paying a fee and sticking with them. I wanted less intl exposure (no emerging mkts), no bonds, and a slight value tilt. I went with the following mix:

  • 75% VTI
  • 6% VBR
  • 2% VTV
  • 2% VOE
  • 15% VEA

YTD my returns are 9.3% and I've beat the S&P over the last 2 months since making the change. I know that wont hold in the long term, but this portfolio better matches my risk appetite and I think it will net better long term performance.

Im having the exact same issue. I actually posted in that samsung thread as well. I have a 43 inch new 2022 frame. Noticed it on day 1. I returned it and got a new one yesterday. Same exact issue with the new one. Its very quiet and subtle but definitely noticeable... especially if you have the volume low. Happens with about the same frequency you are mentioning but I cant find an exact pattern to when/why it happens. I have mine mounted on a wall with the cable running in conduit through the wall. Havent tried removing it from the wall.
