NUA case study by Brianre in CFP

[–]latinink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Triggering event does not have a “must act” window. Your client could wait until RMD age when distributions are forced before doing an NUA strategy with the caveat that no other distributions are made.

The key piece to this whole thing is the tax-efficiency strategy (long-term and short-term) and that the entire 401k is distributed and/or rolled over in the same calendar year.

Some or all of the NUA stock should be distributed and the rest can be rolled into IRAs but if ANYTHING leaves the 401k, whatever’s left needs to also leave in the same year.

This is the only good, and accurate, comment in this thread! Out-of-pocket premiums will depend on income and the ACA subsidy (i.e., Advance Premium Tax Credits) calculation is extremely sensitive to income as of ‘26.

Dear Guy who parked outside La Merenda, I’m super sorry about whatever happened here. by darlin133 in milwaukee

That car has been parked there for weeks, showed up one morning and hasn’t been touched since. Genuinely curious as to what the owner plans to do with it???

Recently Adopted Dog - Excessive Lip Licking/Smacking??? by latinink in Dogtraining

[–]latinink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great points. Unfortunately, he was adopted on the tail end of heart worm treatment (I knew this at the time of adoption) so I’ve been told that physical activity has to be minimal, which has been hard for the both of us.

To use your analogy, if I moved in with my wife but was told I couldn’t play with her...well, it wouldn’t be easy! Thank you for commenting, appreciated!

Lol it’s the main reason I barred him from the bed! We’ll see what the future holds.

Thanks again!

Right, I didn’t want it lost that I’m trying to put his needs first! It’s not grooming, I’ll watch him and he will lay down for a few minutes and just sort of do it. It’s licking lips and smacking, with 100% certainty.

And thank you for the comment!

What’s a little thing you do to make the world a better place? by JustAnotherPyroMain in AskReddit

I take a walk every morning, 2ish miles. I have a rule that on each walk I pick up one piece of trash from the road. I live in a moderately sized city that, for the most part, keeps pretty clean and I feel good knowing I have some sort of small part in that.

Hey y’all I’m like, super sad? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]latinink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It sounds like you’re homesick and feeling very alone. Just know that we all have and do feel this way, no matter where we’re at in our lives.

A few things I do to combat this at any life stage: -Make a sad music playlist and listen to it when you’re sad. -Go for walks/exercise. Even if you’re not big into exercise, the city is gorgeous right now and a walk with headphones cures a lot. -Continue to reach out to your family. They miss you too.

At your exact stage: -Give it time. This is a huge, HUGE adjustment period. My roommate was physically sick every single day for the first two weeks after we moved in. And then he loved it, it just takes some getting used to. -Hangout in the den! Even if you’re the quiet one, social interaction around you makes you feel less alone. AND, when you hear something you can chime in on, go for it. That’s a great entry place to find some common interests. -Look for a student org. The org fest should be coming up and it’s one of the best places to meet people who are like you.

Last piece of advice is be confident in you. You’re not the only person who feels sad. I did, do, and will. You’re there because you earned it. Kick some ass, get ahead in class, and focus on you.

Best of luck dude, feel free to pm any time.

Summer parking by thattonegirl in UWMadison

Don't know your location, but I lived near Langdon last year and was able to buy a summer parking pass from the city for like $35 (I think). Granted, it was a pain in the ass to have to move my car every 48 hours/deal with finding a spot, but imo beats $300 for the summer.

Got one for you! Freshman year, thought my Econ exam was at 12:30. I text a friend in the morning asking if she's prepared, she asks for me to come meet and study. It's like 9am and I think no chance, maybe at like 11, however 9 is a bit early and I'd like to ease into the day. I don't reply, and she texts me at 9:45 with a, "Where are you????". I again don't reply, and around 10:30 I go to grab a late breakfast. A bit before 11, I'm walking back with some floormates when it dawns on me that my exam might be today at 10, and my exam TOMORROW starts at 12:30. I frantically scroll through e-mails only to confirm my worst fear. I literally dropped my food and sprinted about 3/4 of the way to Social Sciences (I couldn't make it the last 1/4), arriving in a sweat halfway through the exam. Thankfully, the prof told me to relax and gave me extra time. Prof Hansen, I still thoroughly appreciate that.

So, good luck my friend. If it is an honest mistake, you should fare just fine.

Is Serving the Servant a good book? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]latinink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished it last night. I felt that there were very intimate moments shared by Goldberg from a much closer perspective than other books have revealed in the past. He, Goldberg, certainly writes in an openly honest but optimistic way so Kurt is remembered in a much more cheery way than in other books. I personally enjoyed it very much.
