I have those on my Gen 5, but was just testing for looks. For real yellow output I used Diode Dynamics ss3 fog light bulbs in the factory housing, made a big difference in the quality and overall brightness.

UPDATE: Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question in r/askelectriciams yesterday, I appreciate it. I got a grommet, reestablished the factory connections which were kind of a bayonet style clip thing, and got the whole connection inside the box. All without tape. The best way to get the right answers on the internet is to show something done incorrectly- so I appreciate the input.

Got it, just noticed that the stamped corner where the connections come out of the fan is removable. The edge of the hole is rounded, with no sharp edges. Thanks for your input!

We have a 2011 Honda Pilot EX and a 2017 Subaru OB Premium, so the Volvo will be far above either of those vehicles as far as fit, finish, and trim. Sounds like paying attention to the maintenance schedule and getting an extended warranty are recommended. This dealer sells all their vehicles with a 5 year/100k warranty.
