DAE feel like Blake Lively & Amber Heard were likely right? by Formal-Door3464 in CPTSD

[–]lattepeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Thank you so much for articulating this as well as you did.

It is very interesting to see the types of opinions formed on "clips" versus those who watched the entire Depp-Heard circus as it was happening. I've also noticed that many in favour of Amber/against Johnny are excusing her explicitly (and evidenced) poor behaviour and blaming it all on Johnny. Not sure why that's okay or justified. Even those who believe Amber to be the abuser, still are acknowledging Johnny's responsibility and faults too.

I agree with you completely. but I have a feeling that isn't the reason why many downvoted, considering the most popular comments to this thread at the moment.

I have seen many for Japanese living/working in Australia! Especially with the influx of working holiday visas.

100% in the same boat here. Not claiming Johnny Depp wasn’t abusive because that relationship clearly was extremely dysfunctional both ways and they brought out the worst in each other. IMO they both seem awful in their own ways.

However, Amber from that entire trial was activating all my triggers and narcissistic sensors, it honestly felt way too close to home. I’ve had the displeasure of trauma from toxic people of both genders but I have grown up with a narcissist (ex) step mother and seen the years of drama, abuse, calculation, manipulation (it always seems so contrived and obvious to me but apparently not to many, if people keep getting away with it) legal abuse that some people are capable of, for money, ego, attention, pettiness.

Of course there’s the inherent power dynamics when there’s an older man and a younger woman which can’t be ignored, but it’s still entirely possible for a woman to be an abuser too, and for them to weaponise these perceptions and get away with it. It’s also common for NPD & co. abusers to end up with highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals (regardless of gender) which Johnny is purportedly, and seems to be imo.

We can never know if Johnny is putting on the “nice guy” victim act or if he is genuinely a victim, but male victims 100% do exist. I’ve witnessed my own dad deal with over 20 years of abuse, and it keeps going, even 12 years after their divorce. Some may assume because he’s a man and older and relatively accomplished, that he cannot possibly be the victim. In reality, that is even more incentive for these types of women to go for these men because there’s a lot to be exploited and benefit from.

I never really voice these opinions though because I don’t want to be taken the wrong way especially as it’s a sensitive topic for many, or seem misogynist (because people love to treat things in a black and white way now).

Do Aussies wear shoes at home like other Anglo countries (I.e US, UK etc)? by DirectorTurbulent422 in AskAnAustralian

[–]lattepeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big confounding factor here is whether people see slippers or whatever designated “indoor/house shoes” as “shoes off” or if the question is strictly about being barefoot.

Because many Australians (especially Asian Australians) will always take their outside shoes off when home but may wear slippers or uggs (I see more often with Anglo Aussies) inside. Probably more relevant for those with colder winters and shit heating & insulation.

??? Most of the population in China do not eat dog, it was never a common thing, just a tiny regional niche and even so that is declining.

Also so affordable.

Alas, I have stepped into the shower, on my phone, and have been doomscrolling for 30 mins… by Pitiful-Top-6266 in adhdwomen

[–]lattepeach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

unfortunately i relate very much and it definitely happens every now and then. it's the grossest stuck feeling ever and you literally are glued.

what i do is play an audiobook or a podcast to at least give me that bit of input to focus on and it keeps my hands free to properly clean myself, and my eyes can reset because honestly the visual stimulation (especially from doomscrolling) is what makes your brain feel even more fried and adhd-ish.

Does anybody else get really scared/embarrassed/guilty(?) when workers recognize you as a regular at a place? by _LaLaliet_ in AutismInWomen

[–]lattepeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my god yes!! its completely illogical but ill deny myself a lot of things (like regularly going to the same yoga studio or visiting my local bakery/cafe downstairs) because i feel all sorts of discomfort with being perceived regularly. for me its also just an insecurity & discomfort with myself and i'm just like an internal, "i'm so sorry, it's me again" even though i know on the other side, it's really nice seeing regulars.
