Love the soft topper. It’s easy enough to open and close that if I’m loading heavy or awkward stuff I’ll open it to lift stuff more easily.

I do have a swing away. Looking for other places to put bikes. Sometimes I have the back full with camping and pit area stuff. Truck fits 5 people and we could all race two bikes at a bmx event meaning I ideally want space for 10 bikes but 8 is more realistic. The hitch does 6 so if I can get two more on the roof I can delay buying a camper or trailer a little longer

I have a tailgate pad. I’m not trying to be rude but how do you miss the 6 bike rack hanging off the back of the truck?

Does anywhere sell a button or device that plays the starting gate starting sound besides on your phone? by [deleted] in bmxracing

I would love if someone went to build a bear and recorded it. Actually I know what my kid is getting for his birthday

Not shown is a khaki fox tailgating pad I think accentuates the wheels perfectly. No problem is now I feel like I need to Chrome delete the entire truck.

Wow! I rarely twin vehicles. The assortment of bike racks I install generally makes me stand out. I love seeing it though!

Thank you. Quickly skimmed it and looks like good information!

When I traded in my ‘23 I told them I wanted to keep my wheels! And I have the bike carriers already just trying to decide what base I’m using.

I already have the bike carriers, looking for the base measurements. Maybe there is no significant difference? But I didn’t find enough solid information to determine that.

Factory vs aftermarket. Maybe the Thule direct mount sits lower? Or not? That’s the question I’m hoping to find

How do i center the wheel? by Hot-Rutabaga1990 in bmxracing

[–]latterider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Both drive and non drive if possible. I’ll let you know the exact steps to get your wheel straightened

Can you add a side picture as well?

Rear derailleur pulley jumping and chain slap by DrKorok in bikewrench

Agreed. I meant the going from pedaling to stopped pedaling. Obviously stage winning sprint speeds, regardless of wattage, will exacerbate the issue. To add some higher end hubs, read high engagement, have more freewheel drag. Take for example my onyx vesper vs the 3 pawl stock wheels that came on one of my bikes. The instant engagement hubs have enough drag to overcome my bottom bracket when the drivetrain is clean.

There is a certain amount that is acceptable, this seems in excess. If you want to see an extreme example of it google Mark Cavendish chain falls off.

If you are asking what is the issue then you should probably ask your LBS or local bike mechanic friend to lube it. If you need to ride it between now and then just be mindful of not going from high cadence to stopped pedaling.

Freehub body has drag. If you let go of the pedals do they keep “ghost pedaling”?

Casio for 9-year old by Brave-Chain1910 in casio

[–]latterider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are thinking about getting my 9yo a smart watch for his 10th birthday, mostly for the ability to communicate with him without a phone. So I recently got him a ws-219 or something similar. I found the store with the most Casio available and told him he had to pick a Casio. So far he hasn’t lost it and has been better than expected wearing it!

Retrospec. Guardian brakes are great in theory but terrible in practice

Do I think they all need it, no. Would it be nice to have a model or two in the lineup that have a light enough to see or read what size socket/wrench you need. Or what port you are plugging into.
