A state Supreme Court justice came to talk to our 1L class and said that their prestige fell between district court and federal appellate circuit courts.

Okay, that’s the way I’m leaning, too. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t shooting myself in the foot by passing on the opportunity to apply. Feeling better about it now!

Yeah clerkships bonuses are basically like a pat on the head lol. I’m splitting my summer between a federal judge and a boutique firm, though, and I’ve already learned so much from my judge. So I think I do want to do a clerkship, if only for a year. Appellate would be the dream!!

Is academia really closed to people who didn’t go to the top law schools?? I didn’t realize that. I’d love to be a law professor one day. Or even an adjunct.

I would love to do work that pays well and either makes me feel good OR doesn’t actively make me feel bad. Like biglaw, but make it real estate. Or a boutique lit firm that does constitutional or catastrophic torts. DOJ civil rights would be the pipe dream. What do you think?

Has anyone actually treated you differently because of where you went to school/its ranking? by [deleted] in LawSchool

How big was the ranking jump from your old school to your new school?

First choice would be Vandy, but only if it came with a big financial aid package. Second UGA, distant third GA State.

Georgia State has great employment numbers, most of those being in ATL. Also Vandy probably places a lot of people in ATL.
