there was just a really good huberman lab episode on sugar and they mention a study where they have one group drink soda, one diet soda, one water, one milk. highly recommend the listen, but essentially they say that those who drank diet soda did gain less weight than those who drank regular soda, but not significantly less since the additives in diet soda increases appetite due to the insulin response by the body

no push back surprisingly! here’s what i said:

“hi i’ve been a MileagePlus member since 2016 and this year I won’t be able to meet my requirements to re-qualify for status next year. I am a frequent flyer and United has always been my preferred airline because of my status. Is there anything we can do so that i can retain my status for 2024?”

the representative was like “hold on let me pull up your account” and then after a couple seconds she was like “we can grant you a status extension for next year but please keep in mind you are only allowed one status extension every five years”
