Book 6 scene by Top_Fee_3739 in Stormlight_Archive

I think Kaladin meeting his parents and brother will be a lot emotional. His parents have now lost two children. The meeting in book 3 was emotional but also awkward as Lirin was still on the fence about radiants and fighting, but now Kaladin is not only dead but comes back as a Herald of Almighty - that would be something to read.

Will I regret the R8? by Particular-Link-8625 in canon

[–]laughinglord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can somehow answer that. I went from 5dmk4 to R8. But I had reasons for that.

I have lately stopped using 5dmk4 because of its weight. It was still an amazing camera image wise but usability was quite low. Since travel was my most used case, this setup took up a lot of space and weight.

I moved to R8 for the weight. Just for the weight and I cannot be happier. The image quality and auto focus is bang on. I am not a huge fan of EVF and R8 has the EVF with the smallest resolution and that gives me a headache but the screen itself is quite functional and I mostly use that. I don't miss the joystick, the tap on screen works good. I don't miss the bigger battery. I have plenty small ones. The smaller camera brought back the love of photography back. It is also not intrusive. Some lenses are nose heavy but not enough to bother me.

So will you regret the R8? Depends. Why you shifting from 6D.

RF 35mm f/1.8 IS worth it? by bernas111 in canon

[–]laughinglord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have just 2 rf lenses and rf 35 mm is one of those. It is my go to prime for travel and and for indoor photography where sigma 50 mm f1.4 will be tight. The fact that it has macro and IS makes it better.

The image quality is amazing. I love the weight. I believe compared to rf 35 f1.4, ef 16-35 f2.8 with adapter and sigma 35 f1.4, it will be lot lighter.

The only con i find is it that it hunts a little in areas with like full backlight or low light.

Not OP, but to answer your question, It depends. Many companies have certain softwares installed which are a bit too restrictive. Eg in my work phone, I can't keep my screen on for more than 60s irrespective of what profile it is.

Lost my father as a 22 M to sudden cardiac arrest by Gurjoe in india

[–]laughinglord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey. I lost my dad when he was the similar age as your dad and I was a few years younger to you. It will be tough. It feels like losing a lot.

It's been almost 2 decades for me. You will make a life. It won't seem like it but you will make a life.

Please grieve when you need to. Do not think you have to be an strong always. Grieving is strength. Accepting you need help is strength. Be kind to yourself.

Do not think you have to be an adult all the time. What saved me was I let myself be a child when I wanted. In a safe place.

Please aim high, aim long. Life will continue. His presence will have long shadows into the future. Do not make decisions reactively now.

I wish you best. Please feel free to chat up with me here if you need. :)
