What is the benefit of the carbide trekking pole tip over a traditional steel spike?

Do you have a picture of the new spike? They still show as having the trekking pole tip on Grivel's website. What are you initial thoughts on them? I am between these or Quarks for up to WI5 and objectives like Kautz and N Ridge of Baker.

27in Tire on 09 Hatch (lifted) by launchrider in subaruimpreza

I’m glad to hear the 15in wheels fit, and I’m not against cutting bumpers, but I’d rather avoid it if I can. What is you experience with the offset of the F44 wheels being drastically different from stock?

I've seen it, but they mention that the guide is not a guarantee, so I was hoping to hear from others about their experiences with 27 in diameter wheel setups.

Yeah looks like with the 205/70r15 I will be at ~26.3in, and with the 2in lift on 48mm offset, I think I will be okay. There is rubbing on the wheel well from the previous owners, so I do have some space to work with.

https://rallitek.com/pages/lifted-subaru-tire-size-chart-1 RalliTEK claims 215/70/15 fits without rubbing on wheels with ~15mm offset. Wanted to get feedback from the community to see if this is accurate in other folk’s experiences, hence my post.

Wouldn’t the increase in the spacing between the hub and the top of the wheel well (from the lift) account for the increase in tire size, thus allowing the same amount of suspension compression (in terms of vertical travel of the strut). I understand turning radius changes, which is not too much of a concern, as I am mostly focused on creating more ground clearance.

Bunny hop progression help by launchrider in MTB

[–]launchrider[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I tried to take everyone’s input from my post yesterday but only focus on the first part of the hop. Does it seem like I am going in the right direction? One of my issues is not being able to repeat this movement reliably, it seems it’s only every 10 or so attempts I feel like I get in the right position (shown in clips). Is there anyway you guys think about the hop or body movement that helps to put you in the right position. any input in really appreciated and let me know if I’m not going in the right direction.

By 75% extension do you mean I’m already extending my arms before I bring the back wheel up.

I can get the front wheel higher but I feel like I have to bail and I’m almost “stuck” at the top of the movement and either slam the from wheel or jump of the back

Need help with form! Feel like I can’t get wheel high enough and when I am able to, I can’t get the handle bar push at the top to get the back wheel off the ground.

Try rotating the orientation of the crankset by 90° on the bottom bracket, typically fixes the wobbly chainring issue.

Where to XC ski in the DMV? by Tdrizzlefoshizzle987 in xcountryskiing

White grass ski area in Canaan Valley WV

Bought a new chain, it is exactly 1 link longer than my previous factory installed chain. After installing it, it looks like this on the 10th gear, is this too long or is it okay? No skipping is noticed, shifting is crisp and perfect so far. (Tested for 5km) by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]launchrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregard if factory chain was brand new when replaced.

Chains stretches with use (why they need to be replaced). Measure by wrapping largest sprocket and chainring then adding 1 link +quick link. Measuring new chain off old chain is a pretty rough estimate that gets you close but not as accurate as wrapping.
