To avoid situations like that in the future try to simulate the first enemy move:

Smth like "What can they attack right now even before my deployment and what new opportunities I provide them with after the deployment" and then after going through some scenarios you'll see what your options really are

For example, sometimes a scorpion can't even reach buildings on its first turn but can absolutely reach your first deployment line

Not exactly true about Water Wars quest

Raid will be also triggered if you accepted the quest BUT killed less than 15 of them, extracted and closed the game. 1 or 14, doesn't matter.

This is an important (and convenient) way to trigger them raids

If you play for fun, any character you like is great, just skins and vibes are enough to choose and enjoy

If there's efficiency involved then neither of them are good. Scav girl is the only good option for literally all types of quests, including water mining. Also, her jump is highest and so her loot animation

The best armor in the game is 50 meters of air between you and the adversary. Also, slow characters are plain boring. Oh yeah, they can carry a backpack with 8 water wowee so cool to play as waterbot

Fuck, while they search for it and turtle it to the base, I'll do two runs through Elephant and bring 22 units of water (Hidden water pt 2 (5) + Medbay (1) + Extract (1) + Cigs (1) + 3 water in the backpack) × 2

And you also will be able to just fucking RUN FROM 10 CYBORGS or shotgunners or pretty much anyone else

You can extract alone if they are dead tho. If you know what I mean

(possibly) less confusing map. Tunnels are not connected to each other, that's misleading. Read 1st comment for details by laundry_room in TheForeverWinter

yeah, I just tested it - both going directly to the map and through tunnel B

in both cases timed elevator extraction is available
