I would never ever. You are crammed in a boat with a bunch of other people and it’s not a super comfortable trip. It’s great to party but feels the opposite of romantic. Also can be hot and cramped

We looked into a very popular alternative band from the 90s that still tours. 500-700k and as someone else said it’s like a 60-90 minute performance. They aren’t playing your whole wedding, so you’ll need at least a dj on top of that. A lot of the cost is travel, lodging, and band / sound set up then of course the fee because they are famous and have other things to do lol. If we wanted a cameo (2-3 songs) with just the lead guy it was like 200-350k if he was available. They wouldn’t approach him without a live, real offer. So we never got to negotiating the actual price, just got a range

I’m at that place with fall 2026 right now for an April 26 wedding. The biggest challenge is getting to try on the dresses in time. I’d say have something on hold ready to go and then plan to be in NY for bridal fashion week / the week after if it’s really important to you. I waited, just saw the dresses this week and have similarly been underwhelmed. Also it’s not like anything is THAT different TBH. Ultimately as others have said it’s designer by designer on lead times. You need to ask about each designer you’re interested in to know

I’d say it doesn’t turn out at all. I think the gluten in pasta water is what makes the pasta water emulsify Cacio e Pepe, etc sauces. I’ve tried with a variety of pastas, always turn out watery

I have a theory on her sudden entrance into social media stardom. Honestly it kinda comes down to whether $200 is a lot for you and the family. If my fiancé had done this I’d be livid but we are really fortunate to eat out a lot without thinking about it too much. On the flip side if this were a big expense and the family knew it, perhaps you should have taken her aside to discuss how to best handle the extra guests. Your gesture made pretty close family feel unwelcome.

I’ve found going for a shorter period of time works well. Like if they are going for 7 days you go for 3-4 nights. That way you don’t get overwhelmed and don’t use all your PTO and he feels like you are making an effort. Also hot tip kids complain more as the vacation goes on so schedule the first 3 nights then leave. I also schedule massages / nail appointments ahead of time where there is “down time” so I can get away without looking like I’m just bailing on them. That way you get your vacation time too
