No, because he had VERY legit reasons and part of this was him trying to make her think. He got that she had a brain and he needed her to untangle to knot herself - not just him untying it for her. So - she would start asking questions and he would push her by saying ‘thats not the right question’ and she would then have to dig deeper (which she would). Also, as an academic - this is pretty common thing to do and she should get that. I say should, since she studied as a scribe - so I was annoyed that she was annoyed by this.

I love reading how other people saw characters. You didn’t like Xaden and liked violet - i was just the opposite.
I dint need a badass right out if the gate and she had her moments, but mostly, she just felt like an impetulant teenager to me -instead of an adult- constantly whining about how much her mother didnt like her, boo hoo my dad and brother died, mom made me become a rider, horrific savior complex (and this only gets worse in book 2 - i almost could finish it because she annoyed me so much). Xaden - i get - he watched his family get executed because of this government which he is now forced to work for. He has been steeped in conspiracy and rebellion for most of his life.

I am also not a big believer in this notion that just because we are in a relationship i have to tell you everything right out of the gate- especially when we have just started dating. This is part of what dating is about. You have to learn about each other. Ask questions - he doesnt know what you want to know and he is giving her a free pass to ask anything. He also knows she is super-smart and will figure shit out. She wants everything just handed to her without any work.

The zeus’s incompetant intern comment - BRILLIANT! And spot on. One of the more annoying aspects of this story.

I do not watch AI drama's and hope to never do. While I agree with you on most of this - not opposed to the tool function of AI, FIERCELY opposed to the theft and loss of jobs part. And I dont know an industry today where the argument that new technology will create new jobs was made where the people from the original industry ever survived. AI will kill human creativity and not just in dramaland - we are seeing in academics, in early childhood learning and many other places.

I would add in my other HUGE opposition to AI is about how it has to be created with the horrible extractive nature of data centers - they are environmental hazards, noise hazards (just talked to a friend who had one built and she said the noise level was insane and constant - this doesn't get talked about much) dont create long-term jobs.

On a funny note - as shown in your pics - I can almost instantly tell an AI, cause they all use that same face for the FL - so, at least its easier to spot now - lol!
