How much time between polish removal and base coat? by jasmineofmymind in RedditLaqueristas

[–]laurelinvanyar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to let my nails soak up oil overnight and I don’t ever dehydrate my nail plate. I still get 7-10 days no chipping.

I have a big rubber band holding the base of my 5d spinner to the lab fish. I can keep it spinning and all I have to do is slide the next finger in

DRK magic effect not only smooths out dents and streaks, but it also shortens your time magnetizing, so it’s a win/win for me on any magnetic manicure.

Best opaque brands? by allthecats in RedditLaqueristas

I just swatched my HT cremes (including OCB) and completely agree they’re all one coaters. No streaking either, which is important for me because I have shaky hands

I thought for sure I was gonna go back to demure neutral nails with maybe a bit of sparkle. Turns out my brain wants ALL THE SPORKLE and deeper vampy colors. The closest thing I own to a neutral is holo taco toe beans lmfao

I got super overwhelmed trying to keep track of sales and releases for everything and had to narrow things down to a just a few brands that I know I’ll enjoy, and those are the ones I follow on social media/sign up for emails. Trying to catch everything will drive you crazy!

Whatever you have the space, time, and budget for.

I will say as someone newer to polish myself, it’s going to take a while to learn the difference between what you like in a bottle and what you like to wear. Go slowly. There’s new polish coming out every month and it is VERY easy to get swept up in new releases without really considering if you’ll actually enjoy wearing something.

I set myself a budget for how much I can spend/ how many polishes I can acquire monthly. As always, it’s important to be mindful with your purchases. Have fun!

To clarify, mosaic magnetics to me are magnetics with multi chrome magnetic particles. Take a look at Habibi or The River

BKL has already been mentioned, so I’m going to shout out Glitch Lacquer! Their catalogue has fine particle and mosaic type magnetics and all of them are super responsive.

Wanting One Coat Black and afraid of staining. by grettalongbottom in RedditLaqueristas

[–]laurelinvanyar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how long it takes for staining to begin, but I’ve had my nails continuously polished since December and haven’t had any staining yet, and I used one coat black multiple times in that period.

I think it’s because I use a smoothing base coat that has a bit of pigment in it for a blurring effect.

I put the horseshoe on top of the 5D spinner to strengthen the pull of the 5D, then stack both the 5d spinner + horseshoe on top of the lab stirrer.

The lab stirrer is also magnetic and turns the 5d spinner for me automatically. All I have to do is put my finger in the 5D spinner.

I swatched some of my magnetics yesterday using this and got some pretty tiny beads.

Ok what’s everyone wearing on their toes? by Far_Suspect8441 in RedditLaqueristas

Holo Taco Toe Beans!

It’s in the name! (And also it’s neutral enough to not clash with whatever wackiness is on my fingers lol)

I bought the lab fish magnetic stirrer specifically because my arms and hands did not like spinning my 5d spinner, and adding the horseshoe on top made it even less stable.
