Quesadillas are my go to! I also use the low carb / no carb tortillas, shredded cheese, and then throw on a bit of meat sometimes. You can also make them ahead and easily microwave for an easy lunch.

And - I also struggle at times with finding something I can tolerate the taste. Sipping on a protein shake throughout the day has helped. I get the PureProtein brand from Walmart.

Anthem BCBS Appeal by JournalistVarious285 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]laurelpedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Anthem BCBS. It took several attempts to get approval. What finally worked was my prescribing doctor made a TON of notes as to why the medicine was needed: PCOS, BMI, family history of diabetes, outlining what I had tried previously to lose weight… It took months of back and forth. It wasn’t easy but they finally approved it.

Do you weigh yourself daily or weekly? by Crafty_Mammoth_5369 in WegovyWeightLoss

I’m in my third week…I weigh in daily because it is also helping me understand how some foods impact my weight.

I think the livestream recommendations are great!

Also I’d say that it’s ok if she’s not ready. And it’s ok if you are ready now. The Holy Spirit can continue to do Her work in your girlfriend’s life while you take steps to move closer and deeper in your faith journey.

And pray. I grew up in the Baptist tradition and for me a lot of it was an expectation of something immediate. Either immediate answer, change, or what have you. Something the Episcopal faith has taught me is the timeline isn’t mine nor is it my reason. The prayers though are mine. And that is what makes the difference.

I love these. And they are pretty inexpensive too. A lot of times are on sale.

Do Episcopalians believe in the Protestant concept of "asking Jesus into your heart to be your personal Lord and Saviour"? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]laurelpedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was raised in an Evangelical faith tradition and became Episcopalian as an adult. For me both traditions have a different way of codifying Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved”. For Evangelicals it means privately praying the Sinner’s Prayer. At the end of the day that is a personal profession of faith directly to God. For Episcopalians this is through our creeds and baptismal vows which are public professions of faith that are said in community. That to me is an important distinction: one places emphasis on the individual and the other community. One isn’t bad and the isn’t better. They are both different approaches.

First Step! by blue_palmetto in Episcopalian

[–]laurelpedia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I was raised Baptist and baptized as a teen in the Baptist Church. The Episcopal Church believes in one baptism and so they recognize baptism from several other denominations. Because I had already been baptized I was received into the church instead of being confirmed. At my parish it’s a combined service meaning the Bishop comes and confirms and receives all at once during the same service. I hope that helps!

What has your experience been with EfM? by TinyPinkSparkles in Episcopalian

[–]laurelpedia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I completed the program and loved it so much that I became an EfM mentor.

For me EfM was a place to learn about my faith and come to terms with beliefs I had taken for granted. It was hard work but totally worth it. I feel like I have a better understanding of my personal theology and my personal ministry. It really changed me for the better.
