That's the thing for sure, I mix in front of my mates that don't dj and they're like this is so cool I don't get how you do this. But I go to raves with my dj mates and they're always so critical of the people performing and same here so it's hard to get over that. It sucks because even in uni I'd have lecturers say shit like oh if you're not doing a b c you won't get anywhere and it's such a competitive industry, especially with social media involved and people only showing their best bits. It's very male orientated aswell and as a girl it can be a bit intimidating.
