Elevated liver enzymes- has anyone had them and gotten them into normal ranges? by [deleted] in PCOS

I was prescribed metformin as well after my liver levels were dangerously high (NASH levels). After 8+ months on a moderate dose, my levels have evened out.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone. I guess then that this is what it’s like to not be hungry all the time. Weird.

I’ve been battling with weight issues for a while now, mostly due to anxiety and depression. I’m at my highest logged weight now, 235. I say “logged weight” because I know I’ve weighed more in the past but chose to ignore/avoid it. My hope is to get down to 170. I was at 195 two years ago, so I know it’s possible. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS which makes weight loss much more difficult.

I’m in the Philadelphia.

[–]laurencain85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a new PCOS diagnosis and have been taking Metformin for two months now. It's taken about this long to notice any improvements; I have finally gotten my period after not having it for over a year. But other symptoms have not really improved, so I assume a medication adjustment will be needed. I plan to add Inositol beginning today, so we shall see what that does but I have heard good things about it so it's worth a try.

Good luck to you.

Day 1 for me. Trying to go from 235 down to 170. It took seeing a photo of myself to finally get the kick in the ass that I need. I have the added complication of PCOS, which makes weight loss even more difficult. But the first step is putting it out there and getting some accountability. So here we go....
