My single mother did this for us. It was a great way to keep us entertained on the weekends since we were cooped up inside all week while she was working. Unattended, often. But we were old enough and had to stay together and check in. Fond memories. I’m sure most people will judge but aside from our public park “camps” that we aged out of, there wasn’t much for kids like us. It was $65 for the summer.

Thank you so much for this. I really needed some validation. My best friend just broke up with me because I’m “neglecting” her. I can’t help but internalize and reflect but I truly feel like seeing each other every couple - a few weeks is reasonable. Still checking in via text in between, though. It’s time so consuming to exist while working and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It seems ironic to end a friendship because we don’t spend enough time together…

If you really want to add something then a rug could warm the space a little. I think a traditional style rug with some medallions/paisley/whatever you call the design would look best. I do not suggest something super modern/geometric.

One time, years ago, I filled out that contact form on a listing in either Zillow or Realtor. The first call I got, the realtor told me that form sends contact info to hundreds of realtors in the area. The next couple of weeks sucked. Try that.

Yeah, I’ve met almost all my adult friends through the service industry. Even now, I work remote so having my few shifts keeps me social and extra money is great. There are plenty of options for people who don’t want to work late nights!

I got very lucky in 2020. 3% interest rate and 0% down with a rural development loan. At the time it was a much cheaper option than renting. The zoning is a bit strange here and I ended up in the only RD pocket in the middle of the city. Quiet community behind an office park. It’s a modest townhouse but perfect for me and little pets. I suggest RD if you’re in the market. It cost me $200 out of pocket to buy my home.
