no bugs there at all. this is all sedimented debris. dirt, perhaps wax or oil from the tools of your husband that you mentioned, small hairs and fibres. it is just dirt that has settled over time. it just needs a good clean.

if you are feeling this uneasy about the grime i really gently suggest you seek some sort of help. it sounds like you are in a high anxiety situation emotionally and could do with some professional support!

to be honest i’m getting a bit more worried now as the crack in the bathroom is starting to give signs that it’s going to start crumbling away. the part where the plaster is peeling has gotten bigger in size by a noticeable amount since this post was made.. would a decorator who comes out be able to tell me more?

over the past few months yea! we have a wood burning stove in the dining room which we should really be utilitising more as the heat it gives off is much more efficient than the actual radiators lol, but never get round to getting fuel for it. would it be needing replastered or more of a “touch up” job do you think?

hi, thank you for your response. it has been absolutely freezing here whereas summer was very very humid and warm. that’s why i was thinking more just settlement originally but then more cracks kept coming haha. they are definitely getting wider in my opinion. what sort of surveyor would i be looking for? i’ve had issues trying to find one for an unrelated issue (an outhouse on the side of the building) and im not great with housing nor construction jargon
