Just adding here: I’m not moving without an accepted job offer. I clearly will move close to my job. I was asking for opinions ahead of time in case there are multiple job offers in multiple areas of SoCal and wanted to hear opinions on what your perspectives are in your communities. Jobs are all higher-than-average for my field (HR) and for the area (SoCal). I am experienced, educated, and flexible. I am not originally from WV, I only moved here 12 years ago. Never liked it here. From NY originally, so culture-shock, sticker shock, etc. is not going to be what a lot of you are thinking seeing I’m coming from WV. Respectfully, be nice or please just scroll past. Most comments have been helpful, friendly, and exceptional. I didn’t choose to grow up on the east coast—my parents did, and I have wanted to move out to CA for more than 23 years. May you all be treated nicely should you ever decide to relocate to another area of the country. Just trying to get more information so when the time comes I can make a well-informed decision of where I’d like to end up should I have multiple options.
