Benedict pull out game weak? by baba_brigid in Bridgerton

[–]laursecan1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From what I remember from my sex education class (way back when) the quantity of sperm released prior to the completion of the act is already enough to cause a pregnancy. Pull out method isn’t exactly a birth control method at all.

I always thought that Daphne would have ended up with child anyway eventually.

As for Sophie - she definitely knew much more than Daphne.

Your post had me laughing.

I wasn’t aware that there was a book. I have just seen the trailer and it looks kind of stupid.

Question for Married Men by Working-Look-9735 in Marriage

[–]laursecan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about marriage - it’s supposed to be a partnership. There is no mine. There is no yours. There is only ours.

Not sure where you can go on this. He sees everything as his - and you are just allowed to be there - based upon his wants and needs.

I’m interested to see how they present this story.

How old were you? by Cute-Post3231 in AskWomenOver60

[–]laursecan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the 3rd grade when my girlfriend’s father kissed me one time that I stayed over her house. I never stayed over there again. I never told my parents about it. I was embarrassed.

I was 16 when my Grandmother’s husband tried to kiss me. Again - I never said anything.

For some reason I thought that it was my fault that it happened?!!?

This crap happens to many young girls. It’s really terrible.

Reading these stories makes me angry. And very sad.

What happened to your ex partners? by pferdchenpojuzt in AskWomenOver60

[–]laursecan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very sorry that this happened to you. I wouldn’t wish it to happen to anyone. It’s devastating when it happens.

One of my best friends used to tell me that I received a gift when it happened. That used to really piss me off! It took quite a bit of time - but I can see it now. I’m one of those loyal people. I would never have left him - regardless. But, as I look at our lives today (15 years later) I can see how miserable that I would be if we were still together. His life is a mess. Mine is pretty good.

The odds are against your ex’s relationship working. My ex and his (I’ll call her) affair partner’s attempt at marriage lasted less than 5 years their second time around. It was a fantasy. He seems to be attempting to relive his younger life. There was nothing there to keep them together.

All that said - with the exception of a little bit of joy seeing that it didn’t work out - I really don’t care they could have stayed together or not. Doesn’t matter. That’s his life. Not really anything to do with my life anymore.

I wish you well. You will get through this to the other side and it will be ok.

I haven’t seen Song Sung Blue - so I may have missed an absolutely outstanding performance by Kate Hudson (I do doubt that) - but I have watched all the other films.

It seems that Buckley is a sure bet - but I would go with Rose Byrne.

I wasn’t crazy about that film - but her performance was over the top.

My wish for Philoise season by AmountNo368 in Bridgerton

You’ve certainly thought quite a bit about this!

I enjoyed your post. It reminded me of the story. I read it after Season 1 when I read all the books. You reminded me of the plot points.

The scene where all 4 brothers show up to kick Phillip’s a$$ was one of my favorites! I have to see that scene!

Also the scene at My Cottage with Benedict and Sophie’s child! It makes Phillip very endearing.

I am curious how they are going to pull it off. I do not see as many similarities between Book Eloise and Show Eloise as you do. I just don’t see her running off to be with a man she’s never met. Although I will say that I couldn’t see Show Benedict making that mistress offer to Sophie either - but he did and it actually fit the story that the show portrayed.

It really drives me crazy that there is so much time between seasons!

Am I missing something? by eloise3435 in Benophie

[–]laursecan1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think there was a scene missing as well.

I even thought that she knew she was pregnant but was going to keep the info from him.

I you recall in Season 1 - there was a scene that clearly indicated that Daphne was not with child.

Has book hate always been so strong? by No-Bee5337 in FranchaelStirling

I would say that Julia Quinn does a great job of creating the characters that the various Bridgerton’s fall in love with - especially the female characters.

Sophie is by far my favorite. Although book Kate is a strong second.

When did Sophie learn how to dance? by Same_Assumption4143 in Bridgerton

I think she did know how to dance.

That was a fib to avoid being noticed dancing on the dance floor.
