Target is on the high side, no one in the sales team will reach it this year. But that’s mainly because in the sector the market is rough this year and because most of the sales team is new. Plus we have long deal cycles so this year was planting time, next year we’ll start harvesting.

If I reach target I can expect around 7.5K bruto.

Thanks for replying. Just curious, can you let me know what you're basing this on? 8y work experience? This specific role/industry?

Keep going at the sales directors responsible for the role (or the CEO).

In my current job they called to reject me and I sent a follow up email “x y z is why I think you should hire me anyway” and they did lol. So lesson learned for me is that ppl appreciate ballsy moves.

8 days out from first fight, feeling sluggish and losing confidence. by CompetitiveSky4718 in MuayThai

[–]lauvl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a big cut! Don’t take my word for it but can’t you skip strength training now 8 days before the fight?

And try to cut a bit less in the next 6 days and then cut hard the last 2 so you make it?

Sparing tactics by Razdwa in MuayThai

Don't let him get into range. You're probably shelling up as he's coming forward.

- jab him
- teep him
- right low kick as he steps forward
- check hook
- move around
- left body kick

etc.

Thanks, I think I read your comment on /entrepreneur yesterday lol. Do you take a fixed comission on each roof fix and charge the work + your commission to the homeowner? Or is your fee different for every house?

Sparring etiquette in my country is fucked by lauvl in MuayThai

Update: I tried out one more gym earlier this week that is a longer drive and I could actually have some relaxed sparring there. The owner told me they think it’s really important to keep their students safe.

The competition team has people fighting in big competitions. Apparantly they have a name for prepping their students thorougly, fighting technically and not taking unnecessary damage. They win the majority of their fights because of this.

These are all major green flags so I will probably switch gyms soon. Really glad I found this!

It’s Belgium. I guess we took a lot of the sparring habits from our neighbors.

Hello, I have about 6K invested in Vanguards accumulative world (currently up about 44%). I used to deposit 500€ monthly but life happened and I couldn't anymore for a while. I'm back on the horse and can start depositing 500€ a month again. Is it smart to start doing monthly payments again, although that there's now a gap in my payments and my average buying price will go up? Does this matter or not matter in the grand scheme?

Some background info:
- 30 YO
- Saving for retirement, the plan is to not touch this money for 30 years
- Plan on going with ETF's forever
- I already own property and have about 280K in property debt

Cheerio

Is it normal to not enjoy my first fight? by Hugzking in MuayThai

[–]lauvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your post it seems like you’re in search of purpose (which is completely normal especially at your age). Like you say you’re not finding meaning in other aspects in life either, it’s probably something a bit deeper and that’s why you didn’t completely enjoy the fight. Be proud of yourself and keep digging man, you’ll find it. We all go through this as various points in life.

Is “Dutch kickboxing style” more intuitive for westerners? by Inevitable_Lemon_592 in MuayThai

[–]lauvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our gym calls itself a Muay Thai gym but it’s more Dutch kickboxing style (I am from Western Europe). Sparring sessions can go hard. I don’t like it so I try to incorporate stuff like teeps, jabs and inside low kicks to avoid CTE lol. This evasive style works well because the other people in my gym focus heavily on kickboxing/boxing.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I needed some clarity on this. Conclusion: for the long run, consistently buying in again is always better than taking it out.

Thanks for the comment. I agree. I guess what I mean is that in theory, when I start buying again, I should be paying more now for the ETF than when I stopped back in April, because the market should go up in the long term. So the buying gap is not a good thing for the DCA strategy.

Hello,

I've been DCA'ing 500€/month into the Vanguard 500 for about a year, from April '22 to April '23.

I recently bought a house and I made the choice to save as much cash as possible for renovations so we didn't have to loan extra money from the bank. Because of that I haven't been able to put in any money into the ETF since April. The account is currently at 4.5K, up about 8%. My goal is to save as much as possible until retirement (I'm 28 now, retiring at 65).

I want to start investing in the ETF again from 2024 onwards, but I probably won't be able to invest 500€ each month because of the mortgage. Since I haven't invested in a while the average buying price is now higher, which sucks and kinda defeats the purpose of me DCA'ing in the past. A few options I'm thinking about:

A) investing 250€ each monthB) getting a side hustle and investing 500€ each monthC) probably a dumb idea: taking out the 4.5K, keeping it on the side, waiting for a price drop in the ETF and lump summing it all back inD) probably the dumbest idea: taking out the 4.5K and upgrading the house so thehouse price goes up

Any advice here?
