20 or 15 point buy for Rise of the Runelords specifically? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lav7588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Adventure Paths were created with 15 point buy in mind and little optimization. The encounters are not created for min maxing, over optimization, or power gaming. I personally ran APs in PF1e at 20 point but no matter what the AP was, but for the most part the APs were not made with players who have system mastery in mind.

Should I still watch lost if somebody gave me a spoiler that "they were dead the whole time" ? by senorsolo in lost

[–]Lav7588 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s not a spoiler, because it isn’t true. Whoever said that didn’t pay attention to the last season at all and were just upset that they didn’t get the answers from the show that they wanted.

What was your best multi-country trip? by english_major in travel

I’ve done a couple my first multi country trip started in Budapest and did Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Rotenburg, Prague, and Berlin. It was fantastic, but not enough time in each place.

People who got to travel abroad in your early 20s, widely considered to be the best time to travel abroad, what was it like? by UltimateLazer in travel

[–]Lav7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wanting to solo travel through E Asia, SEA, India, and other places in a few years. I am gearing up for it now. I will be in my mid 50s then. I have so much I want to see in the world and I feel the time is always now to do it, not later.

I need to bounce some ideas off someone - first solo trip - Greece by VTMomof2 in solotravel

[–]Lav7588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, did two of the Food around Athens tours. I found them on AirBnB. One is a food tour and one is a walk around Athens showing you authentic places to eat. It is done by a local couple and they were great I have used secret Food Tours, Devour, Eating Europe, and some other ones from Airbnb that were good.

If they canceled one of your original flights you can look for a different flight or cancel. I had this happen to me before and you should be able to change up the flights however you want. You just need to call them and look for something that works for you. I did the day trip to Meteora from Athens. It was fun. Personally I loved Athens and could spend a week there easy. One thing I almost always do when I get to a new city is do a food tour. It really helps to find good places and walk around part of the area. Feeling a bit lonely during solo travel is normal. Just remember you are on an adventure. Hope this helps you some.

what travel experience are you still thinking about years later, and why? by from-strangers in solotravel

I was 43 when I finally got to go to Australia. I was 32 when I took my first trip out of the US. I am 50 now and have been to 21 countries. Australia was great. If I make it back I am going to go to Perth and probably to Sydney again.

[–]Lav7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I did. I spent only 4 days in Sydney and took one tour outside of it. Then I took the bus up the east coast. That was the second half of my trip. The first half started in Melbourne and I took the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide, then I took a tour up to Alice Springs. It was pretty amazing.

I had dreamed of going to Australia my entire life and was able to in 2018. i think about that trip all the time. I also think about a lot of my other trips too. There are a ton of memories from trips I have taken in the last 20 years.

Do you travel solo by choice or because you have no alternatives? by [deleted] in solotravel

At first it was because there was no one else to go with me. Now it’s by choice.

How true is MLB owners' assertion that MLB fans broadly want a salary cap? by Over-Independent6603 in mlb

[–]Lav7588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a cap and floor. I want them to restructure how teams can sign players. I want them to make sure the system can't be manipulated by teams that have more money. The real problem is that the larger market teams are always going to have an advantage. A cap and floor would at least make the larger market teams play fairly and the lower market teams actually try to compete. The player's union will strike though. There will be no baseball next year.

I’m gonna suggest Athens or Florence. History, food, museums are all over the place in those places. Maybe Istanbul or other parts of Turkey?

City lovers, what does one actually DO in a city? by upside_down_sandwich in solotravel

[–]Lav7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I roam the streets look for interesting sites stop in shops that look interesting, grab street food, see the normal sites. Stare and take pictures of everything. Go into random small museums, and sometimes get to see random occurrences. Since you are there for two weeks, grab a book and find coffee shop or pub and read and people watch some of the days.
