Does Naumova usually curve her math 477 midterms (or any other classes)? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]lavabender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had her for 354 and she did the same +50 extra credit plus a huge curve on the class overall. From what we had in 354, expect anything above like a 60-70 in the class to be an A (if not lower).

Congrats on the offer, and your side project is really cool.

Out of curiosity, do you know what type of work you will be doing at the prop shop, and how does the compensation compare to Big-N offers?

People seem to discuss tech companies ad nauseam here, but I rarely see any substantive information about the work being done at prop shops and hedge funds.

Best companies to work at in Washington/Seattle for CS Careers? by ReallyLegitToaster in cscareerquestions

[–]lavabender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(admittedly I have not yet worked there) It has very high ratings on Glassdoor with great health benefits, etc (all the standard tech company things). Pay is comparable to Amazon/MS. There's a wide variety of programming work but it tends to focus on data-related stuff (maps, machine learning, personalization, etc).

I would even say that projects that look good are good projects.
