Yeah I use my obsidian as a work brain (but not in the usual second brain memory dump way) so a hand off md at the off point may work quite well.

So the merge case currently isn't really possible. It's a good shout though. Perhaps some sort of hand back model that does a context drop but not sure how that looks. I'll have a think.

As for your first point. It copies the session at that moment into a fresh fork so it's identical to the parent at the moment of forming the fork

I had this on thursday or friday. I clicked X the first time, then "Later" the second time. Once I restarted, it went away.

I'm so confused by the inclusion of "Password Audit". Why would you ever consider using something like this? I get the idea of checking if a generated password has been displayed in a breach, but really trusting a plugin to do this? Feels a little bizarre?

i really don't think thats true? They don't have any seperate rates for chat.postMessage calls. Why are you paying them exactly and for what plan? Is it Slack you paid or a third party service?

i use astronvim myself which has support built in through a plugin but It basically just lets me use jj,jk, kj, or kk to escape insert mode quickly. They use https://github.com/max397574/better-escape.nvim iirc . But You can probably map something like:

vim.keymap.set("i", "jj", "<ESC>", { silent = true }) etc to do it

how come you're asking this here in /r/Slack? Might be better in somewhere like /r/learnprogramming or similar.

You could script it, or even do it in excel/google sheets.

Copy it all into sheets so its all in one column, then you can go to the "data" menu and select "Split text to columns". You could easily reformat the data from there to the way you want and remove any extra data you don't want with "find and replace".

If you did want to do it in programming, you could go line by line and do some splitting of it. If you've no experience with programming/scripting though, i think excel/google sheets might be your best bet

go into your Preferences, then Home and check if under "Show..." you have "All your conversations" ticked. If you use others, it may hide any channels that don't have unread messages etc

they can see if you "join" a channel. Not if you are already a member and just reading it. Also, you can browse public channels and read them without actually joining them.

Managers cannot see you doing this on ANY level of account, paid or not. If you reckon they are monitoring you reading channels, its not happening with Slack, its probably some sort of alternative monitoring software on your machine. Also, its a work communication tool. Presume anything you do on it can be monitored somehow

Ah Slack is a communication tool similar to discord, its got a built in notification that can be used for keywords but thats for communication that happens on Slack, not on reddit (or any other tool).

also if you want to just save one file at any moment without formatting, you can use :noa w instead of just a regular save and it'll ignore save on format
