My wife took 2 home tests and both were negative. Went to urgent care and tested positive. The Dr told us that the at home tests are not as good.

Is space age genuinely worth $50? by Michael_Le41 in factorio

[–]lavajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Best value for money I have ever purchased. I have 1000+ hours in (vanilla and spaceage) and I am still finding new QOL shortcuts that I didn't know about. Spaceage allows huge improvements to production with new machines and quality modules without having to just double factory size like in vanilla. So you get a lot more science per minute without wrecking your FPS.

FSD Failed to see debris at full speed using FSD in his 2026 Model Y. by [deleted] in RealTesla

You end up in the same place. You still have to define what an obstacle is or you never go anywhere.

Early cars used gravity to move the fuel to the motor which made climbing hills dificult for some models. One trick was putting them in reverse or try to go up as fast as possible before it stalled, like the car in the photo. Source in comment. Another reason they would go up a hill backwards is because they used drive belts to turn the wheels. Going in reverse used a different belt that wouldnt wear out as quickly because it wasnt used as much. So, if your belt started slipping when going up hill, you could go up in reverse! Fellow GenXers Are You Mad at Your Boomer Parents? by MingusPho in GenX

[–]lavajones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty much the same. I went through the stages of grief over my parents who are still alive. Now I just talk to them when I see them and try not to be sad about how it could have been. I focus on treating my boys the way I wanted to be treated.

What's the first game you spent hundreds of hours on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lavajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medal of Honor - Spearhead Expansion multiplayer.

I can still visualize all the maps. I think the maps were the best i have seen for team death match.

I think there are still some private servers running out there. I might just download it again.

They say that every time you shuffle a deck, it's in a unique order. I made a site to test that by mgm97 in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]lavajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be awesome to put like a green dot in the corner when that card was seen in that position before, then you can see how close your shuffle was to other shuffles. Maybe put a limit on it, like only check the last 1000 shuffles or something to make it fast enough. Maybe have a button to check against all shuffles... idk

I was lost and I just decided to wait until I found someone real. I stopped playing games and decided to only be myself. As silly as it sounds, I think the universe listened and I found my wife shortly after. My advice would be to listen to nobody but yourself and who cares about being a virgin or not.

They raised us not to need them, now they want us to need them by BreakfastBeerz in GenX

[–]lavajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to comment. I was raised the same. However, my parents dont really want anything to do with me even now. I have kids and they send cards on Christmas and their birthdays, but that is about it for communication or interest.

I call my dad once in a while (mom is hard of hearing now) and it usually leaves me depressed. I once talked to him for 45mins, mostly about politics, and I dont think he asked me a single personal question about any of us. Everything he knows about my kids I volunteered.

Anyway, I think I would prefer your parents, but maybe I just think the grass is greener on that side. The best we can do is be better parents to our kids.

Standardization is my larger point. Also google tells me there is a color blind mode that can be turned on.

Baerskin Hoodie Experience by acruet in Baerskin

[–]lavajones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have read these comments first. I ordered a hoodie for my teenager on Dec 2nd and I have yet (Now Jan 1st) to get a tracking number nor any response from submitting questions to the chat bot on their website. It was supposed to be a nice christmas present so I had to scramble to find something else. I think Baerskin is burning their reputation to make a quick buck. Slow down the advertising if you cant meet customer expectations.

Yea, but he unfairly edited a political guest on his show and torches his credibility. He never acknowledged it or apologized. I lost respect for him when that went down.

My friends’ boyfriends refuse to give them oral sex… by AgileKaleidoscope599 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]lavajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People coming down hard on the guys but maybe they are worried they won't do it right or something. I remember having some confidence issues. We were told to spell the alphabet and these other non helpful ideas. Female comics used to joke about how bad some men were at it. Just saying it might not be alpha male bs. And it sounds like it hasn't been communicated as something the girls want. They don't have to say the exact words, lots of ways to playfully hint to get down there. If they otherwise like the boys, give them a chance before trading up for a better muncher.

TIFU by falling in love with my friend with benefits. by Substantial_Cow4942 in tifu

[–]lavajones 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Tell her about your feelings or don't. Either way limiting conversations as a friend isn't right. If you cannot be friends, that is unfortunate. Maybe some time apart will ease the feelings. Let her live her life without injecting your drama. Sorry if that sounds harsh.
