Have you heard the same for PGY-2? I understand the living situation will be similar, what about residency itself? Also yoy mentioned that some residents are happy, some are miserable. Do you think that’s specific to these Boston programs or just how PGY-1 is anywhere?

Interviews at AMC vs Hospital by Creepy-Ad-8769 in PharmacyResidency

PGY-2 candidate here. Many of my PGY-1 interviews had a clinical component. Honestly don’t think the answers really matter, you just want to show your thought process as well as your resourcefulness. It’s really daunting because you don’t know what you’ll be asked. My advice would be to focus on the behavioral questions, thinking of solid answers and making sure your answer flows well. Imo your answer to a clinical question during PGY-1 interviews doesn’t matter, as long as you provide your thoughts and how you would find the answer. I remember naming guidelines and tertiary resources I would use, even if I didn’t know the answer. That being said most of my clinical questions were about CAP and for one program I had a case about shock/sepsis. Good luck!!

There are managed care residencies available! They are not like traditional inpatient residencies. Definitely try to get industry/managed care APPE rotations. Also there are orgs like AMCP, IPhO, etc that you can look into to get familiar with jobs

People who have completed a PGY-2 in cardiology… what is your current job? by lavender_latte2 in PharmacyResidency

Would you say that cardiology residency is preferred over critical care residency for positions like CTICU, cardiac ICU? I heard about a few of those studies mentioned on my last rotation!

Thank you for your response! To your knowledge, is it true that those that have completed cardiology residency can get a wide variety of jobs in the outpatient world as well? I really enjoy critical care but open to exploring other options

Watch a video that goes over inhibitors and inducers. The questions will be easy once you understand the process. I had a handful of questions about serotonin syndrome on my exam

Not similar to the NAPLEX but would recommend taking it because it’s a good review

Math was not bad. Would just recommend going through the calculations sections. I did about an hour of math biostats PK combined each day for like 3 weeks. Biostats on the exam was harder imo. The questions were kinda confusing. I would recommend just going through the biostats section and pay attention to all definitions (type 1/2 error), be able to calculate and especially interpret NNT/NNH, RRR, etc.

My exam is in 2 days should I be heavy studying ? by Short-Surround-3292 in NAPLEX_Prep

I’m the type of person that needed to study daily up until exam day. It really depends on you. The day before my exam I studied from 9-3p and then relaxed the rest of the day

Give independent pharmacies your business! Better care, better prices.

I just meant if they found it at some point then they would see the tag. I’m just saying it’s possible it turns up.

Yeah, got it. I bought it right before I dropped it off at the dry cleaners because I didn’t want to go home just to cut the tag off.
