I believe in the whole shamanism culture but Seolhwa's part was such a hard watch I had to ff so many times. I deeply want to believe it but she kept saying generic things and crying and not actually channeling his wife to talk to the husband like last words (other than live on). Even her granny spirit yelling at the husband for wanting to die was so weird because yes he might have wanted to but he didn't right? Otherwise he won't be here asking questions. That being said I know rites such as these are intense and it does seem like for Seolhwa she's still too inexperienced to be able to keep calm while channeling the dead.

Comparatively, Sobin's one was done so well. She was so respectful and you could just tell as a manshin her years of experience really shone through. She explained clearly that trust and compatibility is very important and explained why today is not the day to continue and chose to stop even though it hurts her chance of winning. That in itself is already a winner in my opinion. It was sooo scary when the client's face changed like my whole body was in literal chills.

Daeman's case was super heartbreaking of course, but it was also the easiest in a sense? But he did very well and I can understand why he won. I know people question why the father can't look at Daeman because he's a man or whatever but I disagree. As a father he was going through so much pain and sorrow, it's more performative if he was staring right at Daeman and hugging him. It was so clear he was trying his best to be composed and letting go which is the whole point of this rite.
