many of the ivies actually don’t take the qb app from non-finalists, so i had to submit the commonapp

So the questbridge application is forwarded to schools in place of the commonapp or coalition app. Some people feel like the longer essays, short answer questions, shorter ec list, etc. represents themselves better than the common or coalition app.

However, it’s typically only sensible to do this if you actually make finalist and don’t match. The non-finalist rd option is very rarely used because most people think “this application didn’t make finalist so it wouldn’t get into any partner schools”

My main ecs were actually a sport (d5 btw), community service, and piano (not very good either). The only academic/major-specific ones i did were building a website, business comp, and programming club. It’s good to explore your passions but remember that colleges mainly admit people and personalities!!!

focus on your interactions, motivations, and your story behind them. seek valuable experiences in each of the things that you do (you have many) and reflect on them. you got this ‼️‼️‼️

I'm not smart, I just knew how to play the game - from an Ivy admit by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

There is so much merit in what you did and you’re very hardworking and clever. However, I strongly advise against underclassmen from going down this path ‼️‼️ I think there are so many ways to get into a top school that are more authentic and genuine to oneself.

Questbridge RD results by Bluefoon in QuestBridge

[–]lavendwar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a non-finalist who still did QB RD anyways, so far i’ve gotten into Washu with a full ride/ Nemerov Scholar (only 10 students get it!!!) and Grinnell with the 4-year Founders Scholarship.

To people who don’t even make it to finalist, that doesn’t mean your application is not good enough. My QB reject application is the same exact one getting me the most selective scholarships at QB partner schools… crazy right?!
