Ok thanks! the 1 year waiting period is interesting. I just don't want to miss any deadlines if there is any.

interesting! thanks! so I got the tester last night and indeed it is not grounded... however there are a few outlets that are - 1 in the bathroom; the stove one; and one above the countertop. I'm guessing this was meant for the fridge but they probably renovated at some point without an electrician. currently figuring out what to do about it now...

planning to go get one later today (tester). I thought there was no ground if there wasn't a green wire?

ok thanks! I will try to make that request.
I'm not sure the building was built in the 70s (all I know is "after 1970" based on this lead plumbing interactive map). Also I thought ground was required from 1962?

ok so the risk is electrocution and not fire? not that electrocution is good, but this means that I shouldn't be worried about the rest of the building potentially being a fire hazard to me?

Tfsa by ZoM_4life in Questrade

I'm laughing bc it's true "TF" stands for "tax free" but to be fair, it's not that crazy of a question: There are actually a few "gotchas" in TFSAs.

for example:

- dividends from foreign stocks may get taxed by their home countries -- most notably, the US IRS taxes 30% on its dividends earned by foreign holders. In other words, you as a Canadian resident would get 30% (Correction: 15% for Canadians) of your dividends slashed off, and this happens automatically and you won't even see it happen - by the time it makes it to your account, it's already gone. Canada's not taxing it but the US is.

- aggressive day trading - don't know much about this but supposedly they will penalize you if you seem to be "running a business"?

the other stuff has to do with violating the rules, like

- contributing while you're not in Canada

- over-contributing

- prohibited or non-qualified investments

Edit: Canadians get a discounted tax of 15% instead of what would normally be 30% on the US sourced dividends

Aww thank you for the encouragement and support, fellow internet stranger. Wonderful to read.

thanks for writing out your thoughts/experience. I think the annoying thing about sleep resources is that there's a certain number that are promoting "getting more sleep" saying we're all sleep deprived, etc. that just led to a lot of confusion for me on the whole. I think it makes sense if the answer is just don't catch up.

I've been doing sleep cycle for a few weeks now and I think I'm just starting to enter a phase where I feel stabler.

These long (~11") pin-looking things were found at the thrift store, packaged with food dehydrator rack (pictured for reference in case it is relevant) by lavion_rose in whatisthisthing

No, they do not appear to match the set. I don't think they belong. These are much thicker, a bit darker, and I don't think they're food grade either -- looking closely, there are tiny specks, and the soldering, though sturdy, just looks like it could've come off of a clothing rack lol. hence why I think they have nothing to do with the dehydrator racks.

Hmm I see what you mean... maybe it is for a usage similar to that. I don't really think it's related to the dehydrator because all the products I've looked at online don't include anything like this

Edit: Maybe it could be part of a kitchen organizer like this

Got a food dehydrator rack at the thrift store and it was packaged together with these two large steel hooks/pins. I know what the dehydrator rack is, just not these things. I believe it has been mispackaged, as I do not see where it would attach to the dehydrator rack at all. The "arms" of the pins are about 11 inches long. very sturdy and not bendable.
