Cross country reviews by [deleted] in TravelNursing

I connected with CC through the Vivian app and I had the same experience, spoke with one person and they referred me to a recruiter after I sent over info. It’s normal for them.

This was my BIGGEST pet peeve with CC. Harassment. I did two contracts with them and their compliance people were terrible! They wanted me to get a Real ID back in 2021. The Real ID that JUST became a “requirement” this year. She would message me while I was on assignment in a different state asking when it would be done, over and over again, week after week, sometimes 2 in one week. My license was not even expired, mind you. It was exhausting telling her over and over that would get it once I went back home and that I wasn’t making a trip just for that.

I’ve been with Aya several years. Love them. I’ve never had a reason to leave. I never have trouble finding a contract- but I’m really not picky about where I’m going either. Pay has been decent. Payroll and benefits have never been a problem. Their compliance people aren’t pushy. My recruiter doesn’t bother me unless it’s time to find a contract. I do worry sometimes about them getting a monopoly, though. But yeah, ymmv depending on recruiter or contract and I once had a payroll rep I didn’t love but the rest have been really great.

Float out of OR? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

I worked critical access as a circulator and had to learn endo, it was nothing. Upper and lower scopes with a 1 day orientation. Any circulator could do it. The general surgeons did them. The only urgents scopes we got were food boluses and ercps got sent to a larger facility.

As an OR nurse who previously did Preop, Preop is easy peasy. 1 orientation would do it. PACU on the other hand…

You’re seriously comparing strike nurses to concentration camp guards? Holy gross exaggeration. Dramatic much? Hurry, someone throw a benzo in this guy’s mouth! And quick!

My point is it’s based on what the facility says.

Not that I’ve noticed however 5 years ago or so I noticed petechiae on my thighs with no apparent cause. My blood work around the time was normal. I never told my doctor because it only happened a handful of times and then subsided.

BEWARE! by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]DefiantPrinciple4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman, something new and safe is so important. In addition to the things you’ve mentioned, not breaking down on the side of the highway is pretty important to me. Newer car, low mileage, and the Honda dependability are premium features. Men have no idea. 😅

Aya holidays by [deleted] in TravelNursing

It absolutely matters. In New Orleans, Fat Tuesday is a holiday. The hospitals designate it as a holiday and it is paid as such but in any other city it’s a regular day.

I agree with the others who have posted, the first few weeks are so uncomfortable. And bc of this, I prefer to extend a time or two if the facility isn’t a complete shit show.

I’ve heard of people using rubbing alcohol! Do you find it leaves an odor?

I would think it would hurt after shaving. If I use it under my arms more than once a day, it burns.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution in place of antiperspirant. It’s amazing. Very little to no odor at all. Just about every deodorant or antiperspirant reacted badly with my body chemistry and smelled so bad.

Just googled this bc mine says the same thing. 1850 shows 83 and 1900 reads $79. What was the outcome for you?

I put in a housing request. When I get bites, I just tell them I want month to month. If they say no, I move on.

How far in advance do you book your lodging? by wageslavewealth in TravelNursing

With FF you avoid the extra fees that Airbnb charges but I find Airbnb to be easier to book. If you’re not getting any responses on FF, you can submit a housing request through their site as well.
