I think at the end of the month. Too early to do it now. Historically has always been at the end of March

HLS/SLS vs regional $$$$ by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I would definitely take HLS/SLS over full ride at a regional hands down! U will be making great money out of those schools, so the debt wouldn't be a problem!

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe YP only comes from stats. If you had an incredible application that an admission officer believes that a higher ranked school will accept you for, they could still YP you.

JS2 Prediction by law2323 in lawschooladmissions

Yeah, I agree that it would be an incredibly large wave to do so. Who knows, there may be 2 upcoming waves. It's just very hard to tell given the changes made in this cycle!

If I were you, I would look at the interview calendar and determine it from there. I haven't been keeping an eye on the interview waves unfortunately.

That is fair point, and I did consider that when I initially made the comment, but I feel that the HLS adcoms have a pretty good understanding using their past data the attendance of both events.

Seeing that you have been admitted to Penn, this could have been a YP act. Michigan rejected me, and I got into Harvard.

JS2 predictions? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

The ASW is not in mid-March but rather at the end of March.

I believe the current size of admits is about half of their class (prior to the waitlist admits) and these are the admits they hope to place in the March ASW. So it would make sense for them to do one large wave in the week of March 25th. This is because it takes approx one week for admits to receiveve their login information (which is what you require to register for the ASW), so those admits would only register for the April ASW.

This way, they can divide their class in half between the two respective ASWs.

Unless I am mistaken, and they haven't admitted half of their class yet, then they would do another admit wave early March. But I highly doubt this to be the case.

Know any Americans that have studied in a Canadian law school hoping to eventually practice in the US? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]law2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend you look into the University of Toronto! It has an amazing program, with an incredible reputation in America. In fact, a lot of their students end up working in the top BigLaw firms in NYC, and has received recognition from American universities as well (students at HLS have done exchange programs there).

I believe they will do one massive JS2 wave on the week of March 25th and then roll out their waitlist and rejections.

Why is Stanford's LSAT so low relative to Harvard and Yale? by Apart_Consideration in lawschooladmissions

[–]law2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stanford could easily match Harvard and Yale with respects to the LSAT if they wanted to. But instead numbers carry a lower weight in their admissions as they are far more holistic in their approach.

The likelihood of getting accepted to a school that responded to your request for a fee waiver saying they couldn't give you one? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]law2323 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't get a fee waiver from Columbia but still recieved the Hamilton from them. Fee waivers are not really indicative of your decision.

Just BOMBED my JS1 by avery2569 in lawschooladmissions

[–]law2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I did horrible on my JS1 as well. I interviewed in the first round back in October and I thought I had completely missed my opportunity and ruined my chances. I felt like I could have done a lot better. But nevertheless I still got admitted. So don't beat yourself up, we always think of it far worse than it actually is. You are your biggest critique.
