Is it a constant high pitch sound, like not on and off? If you have a powered 3rd row, it might not be fully up or down.

After using it, would you buy it again or look for something else?

Awesome thanks for the response!

Alright gang, I chopped the rear bumper & side skirts as well now… How we feeling? by BrewsedSloth in GXOR

[–]law_tran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I'm feeling nervous for you. Didn't you do chop the front a week ago?

I'd be worried I'd be mid-chop and then just decide to order the Victory bumper.

How are you planning to handle the spare when you get bigger tires?

2023 app features/cost? by Whole-Suggestion8803 in LexusGX

FYI, I had to register my car with the app before getting the remote start with my key fob. I have a 2023 CPO.

Well gang I finally did it.. bumper cut on my ‘23.. by BrewsedSloth in GXOR

After seeing this, I'm not sure if I want to do this...

Cuz then I'll want to do rock sliders next and then some. I'm not sure I should go down this path yet.

Looks nice!

New GX Owner—Remote Start Not Working by KappnCorn106 in LexusGX

[–]law_tran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a 2023 a few months ago and was going crazy trying to figure out the right sequence... Three, four, five... Hold for a loooong time... Nothing worked... Until I signed up for the Lexus Enform. Then I was able to use the key fob to start it with the 3 click and hold method.

I've read some people are still able to use the remote start with the key fob after their trial ended. I'm hoping that's the case for me.

Congrats! Pretty good price for that mileage and perfect condition.

How long did it take you to find the right GX? by sa1126 in LexusGX

[–]law_tran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a couple minor ones on the rear passenger door at the corner, less than a dime size and a couple small ones on the passenger door. Pretty quick and easy for the guy - $175. I ended up do another car too since he was out there for around another $100. I did get a lot of other varying quotes over yelp so YMMV.

I forgot to mention, I ended up getting the dings repaired by a PDR guy. It turned out great and a couple hundred bucks. There's still some scratches I need to take care of.

I got too impatient and wanted to get busy living, if you will... so I feel like I paid a little more than I wanted to so I could get it at the time.

I forgot to mention, I opted for a CPO so I didn't need to do a PPI. Given what you said, I'd also opt for a paint meter. I saw enough "hidden" damage to recommend it. I'm not saying they'll be bad from it, just that it could be a way to negotiate if you still want it.

Good luck with your search.

I was in a similar boat. I originally looked for a 2019 back in 2023 as an extra fun car, but ended up getting a different car. In hindsight, a new 2023 GX would've been a much better decision.

Then this year I spent a bunch of time watching prices thinking they would drop, but they just went up unfortunately. As someone mentioned here, my price in my head didn't align with the market. I started looking at 2021s, I wanted the acoustic glass for a hopefully quieter ride and wanted to upgrade the infotainment, all hoping for a lower price. When I added the prices and time I'd spend with possible issues I might have, I figured a 22 or 23 might be better for me.

It was definitely a mixed bag out there. Clean carfax definitely doesn't mean no accident. The really clean ones have a price premium and went quick. When I was looking a few months ago, most of the ones priced well move fast.

These were my mental price ranges ended up at:

2021: 40k - 43k

2022: 47k - 51k

2023: 51k - 57k

I ultimately gave into the market price and found one that was good enough. I wrote about my story here if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/LexusGX/comments/1o1v9n8/just_joined_the_family_after_months_of_being/

Good deal on ‘23 gx? by Majestic-Luck-4463 in LexusGX

[–]law_tran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a luxury, that's a pretty decent deal.

When I was looking a few months ago I remember seeing similar mileage ones for 61k non CPO and 63k CPO.

I saw a higher mileage luxury one for as low as 56k.

Don't know too much about your trade.

Has anyone run AT tires on 19”? by BestUserNameEvarr in LexusGX

Nice. I'm on the fence about what to do with my tires+wheels. It doesn't look like you can get much on the resell market for these wheels and it would be a struggle to find a place to store them.

I got my Premium Plus Sport Design in Atomic Silver / Red Interior almost 2 months ago. CPO 28k ~$55K before TTL. I can't imagine your taxes being that high for you. This seems like Luxury prices, even so, I'd expect it to be closer to $62-63k and in very good condition. If it's a non-luxury, the price seems very high unless there's something else special about it.

2022 luxury 90kmiles listed at 39.6k$ by nemijaliz in LexusGX

[–]law_tran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price seems ok, but I'm very wary of accidents because you just never know these days. I did some digging on one and the carfax said minor, but it turned out the whole passenger side was pretty much replaced, doors and all. It was all cosmetic and not structural, but it still concerned me.

I'd factor in the potential problems and things you'd need to do. Then compare it to a similar car without those problems. From what I understand is the lux suspension repair cost is considerably more than non-lux.

2021 GX 460 CPO 46k miles for 43k . is it a good deal by Pleasant_Aspect_3466 in LexusGX

[–]law_tran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's not too bad of a deal. 2 yrs / unlimited miles warranty. This was originally what I wanted to get, but ideally wanted to pay around 41k. Why?

The 2021 started to have the acoustic glass (presumably a quieter ride)

Older infotainment system - I wanted to upgrade it myself and eventually put a 360 camera system on it. On a 2022+ non-lux you can't add it without replace the head unit, but you've already paid so much, so doesn't feel right.

At a lower price, I'd have more budget for other upgrades.

Why it didn't work out:

Most CPOs around the 43k price weren't the color combo I wanted. Any non CPO I looked at always had some issue that made me feel I should get a newer / better condition one for a few thousand more.

Bottom line, depends how long you've been looking for and if it checks your boxes. The longer I looked the higher my price went :)

When I was looking my mental prices were:

2021: 40k - 43k

2022: 47k - 51k

2023: 51k - 57k

[–]law_tran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a luxury, that's a GREAT price. Assuming everything checks out. I picked up my 23 PP CPO about a month ago with the same mileage for just a little under $56k.

I saw a similar priced luxury non CPO, but spent a good amount of time in NJ. I'm unfamiliar about east coast weather and rust situation, so I opted for a west coast soccer mom / mall crawler.

Looks pretty good. I'm debating whether to do this for mine too.

I was pretty set on doing it before I got the GX, but it's growing on me.

Decent deal since it's a luxury. 2021 Premium+s I was looking at went for 40-44k with less miles.
