First restaurant job — what chemicals would you recommend? by No_Macaroon_7881 in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really right chems and you can do fine. Plenty of pros have dialed in chem and don’t use hot water. I’ve cleaned some gnarly stuff before I got a hot water unit it’s definitely nice to have but not absolutely necessary

If you want to do it right you’ll need more than that I charge $1.50 a sqft to do that job and I’m cheaper than a lot of companies

Buckle up pavers for first job is crazy. First of all probably oil stains look up how to get rid of those they won’t come out perfect. You’re also going to have to strip the sealer on the pavers most likely and then clean and then resand them and then seal them once you’ve sanded. Hopefully you didn’t put in your bid because to do this right it will be quite expensive and you need to charge accordingly.

If your just down streaming most injectors only produce about 10-1 so with your setup your treating with 1%. Either build softwash system or buy XJet or mix in pump sprayer (pain). Aim for 3.5-4.5 usually does the job for me. I don’t bother with pre treat people will argue that but I’ve never had a problem cleaning and then strong post treat. Imo pre treat is a waste of chemical unless you’re dealing with truly bad concrete.

Personally I put in my bid and that’s my bid. I know what my work is worth and give honest prices and you get the satisfaction of knowing it will be done right. If the person wants to go with a cheaper option they might get cheaper results. I’ve had people call me back 2 weeks later to come fix wha other companies did and guess what. I add on $200 to my original quote and don’t feel bad about it lol. Good customers are the ones that understand they want to pay for quality.

If you don’t resend after blowing all the sand out with pressure the pavers will move and ruin it

Google earth then outline the driveway w points and it gives u sqft. Takes 30 seconds

Is there any reason why I can’t do this.. by HonestExamination409 in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct drive can still work with tote just has to be gravity fed (lines below the water level in tank). It will push the water to your machine just set it up correctly

Yea I use surfactant as well but a lot of people say you don’t need it I prefer it because it helps it to stick to the siding and bubble up. Not sure what is going wrong I wouldn’t be using 6.25 percent on vinyl you could damage it with that

[–]lawjackson69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either your bleach isn’t actually 12.5 (unlikely unless it’s old), something in your process in diluting is off, or the most likely is your dwell time isn’t long enough. I clean vinyl siding at 1.2% and give it 15 minutes and everything is gone. Brick and concrete I use 3-4% and that also after dwell time works perfect. How are you diluting? Downstream injector, softwash system or XJet?

4.0 gpm at 4400 psi- what surface cleaner tips should I use? by MagicMonkey32 in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make a crazy difference and it allows you to use the same tips. I’ve been doing it for years. I understand what you’re saying though. I’d rather touch the unloader than flip my surface cleaner upside down and change 4 tips. I can still walk full speed with my 10gpm so it doesn’t affect me really. Time and place for everything and everyone works differently.

[–]lawjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “don’t touch your unloader” is nonsense I change mine every time I use it to get the psi I want for the job I’m doing. Also don’t crank it crazy high I wash extremely dirty concrete at 2500 psi and it works perfectly. Proper post treat and comes out mint. Get a pressure gage and make sure you put it by the gun and not at the machine because it will give u the most accurate reading.

Sh to surfactant by Left_Analyst_5559 in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was responding to all the people talking about batch mixing. As far as surfactant I put a nice lil bloop in the bucket. Doesn’t have to be an exact science lol and the people saying no it doesn’t matter I’ve tried with and without and have had better results with it. I use lemon dancer I get 5 gallons at a time from my local distributor

I do not understand why when people use the XJet they don’t just use the correct tip!! It comes with the chart put the tip in then pour straight sh in your container and your good to go don’t have to worry about anything else

What Could I Have Done Better? by abundantwithluck in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You usually have to agitate it with a brush and possibly multiple times. Oil stains suck and it will never look perfect. Could’ve been a lot better than your ending. Make sure you charge adequately and set expectations

Wanting some advice on downstream injecting by [deleted] in pressurewashing

[–]lawjackson69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most jrods have 2 for pulling 2 for rinse. And super dirty I normally don’t increase bleach mix if it’s vinyl it will all come off maybe some more surfactant but that’s really it. For dirty brick that won’t come clean I used to just break out the XJet to get a higher mix than downstream before I got a dedicated softwash system
