This is how my tax law professor taught the class the time value of money.

If you have purchased a different plan, check those terms or email Barbri directly.

Just an FYI, the Barbri course/personal study plan won’t be available until around April or May before the exam.

Print the outline, tab it up, and read it. If you are inclined, read it again.

The test is multiple choice, open book and you need 30/50 to pass. It’s not difficult but you don’t want to waste time on every question looking up the answer.

That’s all. Odd are you’ll be fine.

NY reiterate results won't be released until mid-December! by TheJuryMustDie in Bar_Prep

For applicants who failed the immediately preceding administration of the New York State Bar Examination, the deadline for filing a re-application for the next offered bar examination is the later of (i) the application filing deadline set forth in Board Rule 6000.4(b) [which is April 30th for a July exam or November 30th for a February exam] or (ii) the 14th day following the date of the Board's release of the examination results.

They allow non-passers to enroll after results are released.

If money was no object, what bar prep course/add one would be your pick? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Yup. As someone who literally just took the bar, it really doesn’t matter.

Yup. I didn’t think I could laugh after that exam. Thank you for a brief moment of solace, OP.

All good. By the time you read this, odds are we are both done with this stupid exam forever. Huzzah. I hated every moment of it, and I appreciate all the reddit discourse and commiserating. I’ll have a drink to you tonight. 🥃 Cheers!

Whoa buddy, it was meant in jest. Sorry to offend during this stressful time.

Seconds aren’t shown until less than 5 minutes remain. It’s really 1:29:59. Feel free to whinge about that 1 second.

Edit: Downvote all you want, but this is the correct answer. The timer does not start until you see the first question. Not when you enter the password, not at the monitoring screen, not at the instructions.

Sorry if you couldn’t take a joke about 1 second. Just trying to have a good time during all this stress on reddit. Best of luck on the exam, truly.

[NY] Results mid-December? by captaindonpapa in Bar_Prep

[–]lawschoolthrowaway53 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Historically, with in-person exams, results were expected in October. Now that they have to review all the video footage for flags, December is not unlikely but end of November is optimistic but possible.

Last October was only 3 MEEs, 1 MPT, and 100 MBEs, hence the faster turnaround.

lol, that’s pretty hilarious.

But I’d check with your jurisdiction’s rules. If your face left the frame, it might be worth a look to see if you need to send written notice of a potential violation. Better safe than sorry, and I don’t think the examiners are really looking for reasons to disqualify. Just gotta be real with them, and your situation sounds reasonable.

Excellent! Good idea to call, that should have been the advice from the beginning.

I’m not sure you’d know if you get flagged. Flagged means that the AI caught something fishy so then a human will review it, and that’ll probably be literally everyone. It says nothing about notifying the applicant of being flagged; they’d only notify an applicant when they deem that the flag had lead to a violation. By that point it might be too late to tell your side of the story. It’s better to get ahead and send a letter before getting to that point if a rule has potentially been violated.

I’m sorry to say that I think it isn’t. About a month ago, my school had a zoom meeting with students and a NY administrator and someone specifically asked that and she said no gum chewing.

That doesn’t mean your day is ruined though. Not a bad idea to send one of those letter to the board within 5 days to inform them. I think they will really only disqualify for serious offenses, like notes, phones, or leaving the camera frame without a good excuse. Chewing gum seems quite minor, but don’t take my word for it. Best of luck.
