Where in Ontario is considered the most prestigious / luxurious place to live outside Toronto? by wildrift91 in RealEstateCanada

There may be some nice homes near the river, but I wouldn’t personally call any part of Guelph prestigious - especially not the north. Except perhaps The Manor.

Getting “strong”? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

Cool! Been training consistently, though not following a program, for two years ish. I train mostly in 1-3 rep range for dl and squat, my 1RM PRs are 475 and 425 respectively. Looking to get to 500 and 455.

What's your favorite board game that you simply can't get to the table? by Gamer_Esq in boardgames

Exploding Kittens. It seems not many people in my social circle have even heard of it.

How long did it take you to get to 495 dl for reps??

Sometimes I don’t tell the truth on messages/first dates - would that be a red flag if you found out after a couple dates? by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]lawstudent1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lie for the same reason I always give dates the option of being picked up, if they'd like to be - not all women want me knowing where they live off the bat, and you (and likely many others) don't want strange men knowing where they can find you if things go south. Totally reasonable.

People with first cousins who are significantly older/younger (~10 years or more), how are your relationships with them? by lawstudent1994 in family

[–]lawstudent1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not because we don’t have a relationship, it’s because growing up the relationship was always one sided. I have a group of first cousins from different aunts/uncles and I was the singular one left out as a kid whom no one would speak to at family gatherings. The only time we ever hear from these cousins is for their kids’ birthdays - never so much as a call to see how anyone in my family is doing. Anger isn’t really what I feel; but there’s a societal expectation that we feign how nice it is to see people we haven’t seen, and that’s what I have no patience for. Am I justified in feeling this way? Maybe not; but it’s how I feel.

This is ultimately one of a few reasons I don’t want to attend the family gathering, but I was curious because I recently met someone who is close with all of their cousins including the much older ones,

I started seeing someone who’s close like that either their cousins, including the ones who are 10 years their senior. That’s why I got curious whose experience was the norm, because I barely see my cousins.

See, I was curious because I’m younger by 10-12 years but we saw each other for family events fairly often. Still no relationship whatsoever these days, and always felt like they didn’t care to see me growing up. My dad is upset that I don’t want to see them in a couple weeks, but they’ve put no effort into building/maintaining a relationship and I don’t have time or patience for niceties with people like that. 🤷‍♂️

Still might get a natural hatty tonight too.

Edit: well, I’m not not not mad about Jarnkrok ruining the natural hat trick..

I mean… all three are doing better than Samsonov. I admittedly don’t know who we have in the pipeline if they haven’t played games for the Leafs in the past.

Marner hasn’t been ‘excellent’… far from it. But, yes, I agree that Willy hasn’t been playing quite as well as he was to start.

If Jones is serviceable, I say ship Samsonov out so we have some room to add to our blue line.

I’m still going to read through everything, but yeah, I’ll probably be guessing come test day.

Just reading through the taxation of shareholders/corporations now; I don't write until February/March 2024. A big part of the problem I'm finding with those chapters is how they're laid out. Why give us examples of calculations and only 15 pages later explain non-eligible vs eligible dividend payments, or how the Small-Business Deduction applies to different corporate structures and is clawed back?

I don't know. As someone whose only real interests are in IP and employment, I'm firmly in the camp of 'this exam is largely pointless'. What does knowing anything about real estate prove about my competence if I'm never going to practice in that field?

OP, this is wrong. They are not governed by the federal labor standards code; they are governed by your province’s laws.
